if that post is about you, and that's a big "if" there, consider the following:

1.  why not think of "box" instead of "idiot"?

2.  you can very well afford the same dark glasses.

3.  cheer up.  that guy in the poster may look like you.

PAGASA spots tropical depression, LPA
http://www.manilachannel.com/2013
July 19, 2013

Manila, Philippines—PAGASA is all-hands in closely monitoring two weather systems in the country.

The said weather systems outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will apparently cause bad weather in some areas in Mindanao and in Central and Northern Luzon.

“A tropical depression was spotted over the West Philippine Sea,” said Samuel Duran, PAGASA forecaster.

In case the detected depression will enter PAR, its local name will be “Jolina”.

Duran explained that the tropical depression is moving northward hence there is a least possibility that it will not enter the country’s bounds.

Moreover, another weather system in the form of a low pressure area (LPA) was spotted in the eastern part of Mindanao.

It is entrenched along inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) where most typhoons are formed and where the northeast and southeast rade winds come together.

PAGASA further stated that the monsoon trough affects western areas of central and northern Luzon based on forecast on Friday. The ITCZ on the other hand, affects southern parts of Mindanao.

PAGASA informed public to expect sudden weather disturbances on areas affected by the two weather systems. These include regions of Ilocos, Zamboanga Peninsula, provinces of Bataan, Zambales, Batanes, SOCCSKSARGEN, the Kalayaan Group of Islands, Palawan, Davao and other provinces near central and northern Luzon and the eastern and southern parts of Mindanao.

MANILA -- Light to moderate rains are expected over parts of Visayas and Mindanao Saturday due to a low pressure area (LPA), state weather bureau PAGASA said.

The weather disturbance was spotted 330 kilometers east of Mindanao as of 4 a.m. It was embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), affecting the southern region.

PAGASA said Visayas and the regions of Bicol, Mimaropa, Zamboanga peninsula, northern Mindanao, Caraga and Davao will experience light to moderate rains and thunderstorms under cloudy skies.

Meanwhile, much of Luzon including Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be in for isolated rains and thunderstorms under partly cloudy to cloudy skies. -- ANC

LPA nears  Surigao; flash floods, landslides threaten Vis-Min
July 28, 2013 7:28am

Flash floods and landslides may threaten parts of Visayas and Mindanao as a potential cyclone – a low-pressure area – moved near Surigao early Sunday, state weather forecasters said.

PAGASA said that as of 4 a.m. Sunday, the LPA was estimated at 50 km northeast of Surigao City, embedded along the inter-tropical convergence zone affecting Palawan, Visayas and Mindanao.

“Visayas, Caraga and Northern Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain showers and thunderstorms, which may trigger flash floods and landslides,” it said in its 5 a.m. bulletin.

It added Palawan, Bicol and the rest of Mindanao will have “cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms.”

Also, it said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be “partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.”

PAGASA earlier said the LPA has a chance of becoming a cyclone while inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

If it does, it will be locally codenamed "Jolina."

As of 6:07 a.m., PAGASA said thunderstorms affected most parts of Camiguin Island, Surigao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, Agusan del Norte, Siargao Island, Socorro Island, and Surigao del Sur.

"All are advised to take precautionary measures against heavy rains, gusty winds, lightning and possible flash floods. Keep monitoring for updates," it said. — LBG, GMA News

LPA, ITCZ to bring rains
By Jeannette I. Andrade
Philippine Daily Inquirer
1:41 am | Monday, July 29th, 2013

The weather bureau on Sunday alerted residents of southern Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao to possible flashfloods and landslides triggered by rains spawned by a low pressure area (LPA) north of Tacloban City and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA, estimated at 70 kilometers north of Tacloban City, was embedded in the ITCZ affecting Palawan, the Visayas and Mindanao.

Forecaster Adczar Aurelio said the two weather systems were expected to bring moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms on Monday to the Bicol, Mimaropa, Zamboanga and northern Mindanao regions as well as Quezon province and the Visayas.

Aurelio said there was a possibility the LPA could develop into a tropical cyclone to be named “Jolina.”

Aurelio said Sunday’s downpour in Metro Manila was brought by thunderstorms and not by the two weather systems.

In its 5 p.m. forecast, the bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of the country continue to have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Floods hit parts of QC, Manila
ABS-CBNnews.com
Posted at 08/03/2013 3:13 PM | Updated as of 08/03/2013 5:40 PM

MANILA – Floods hit parts of Quezon City and Manila due to strong rains Saturday afternoon.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said gutter-deep floods submerged the northbound lane of EDSA-Quezon Ave in front of Centris at around 2:50 p.m.

Floods also hit Congressional Avenue and EDSA-Muñoz.

The floods caused heavy traffic as some areas are no longer passable to some vehicles.

As of 2:48 p.m., MMDA said A. Bonifacio NLEX is not passable to all types of vehicles.

Quezon Ave.-Biak na Bato is also not passable to light vehicles due to 15-inch deep floods.

The floods also caused traffic jams in Manila as motorists braved floods along España-A. Maceda to Antipolo, Blumentritt, and Sampaloc.

Weather bureau PAGASA said the strong rains were caused by a thunderstorm affecting parts of Zambales, Metro Manila, Rizal, Batangas and Bulacan.

PAGASA issued a thunderstorm warning at around 2 p.m.

Motorists were also warned to against driving during the heavy rains due to poor visibility. -- With reports from Robert Mano and Ricky Velasco, dzMM

LPA to bring heavy rain to Davao
ABS-CBNnews.com
Posted at 08/04/2013 8:37 PM | Updated as of 08/04/2013 8:37 PM

MANILA – Weather bureau PAGASA has urged residents of Davao region to prepare for heavy rain to be brought by a low pressure area (LPA) Sunday night.

In an interview with DZMM, PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA will bring heavy rain, which may cause flash floods and landslides.

At 4 p.m. Sunday, the the LPA was estimated to be 180 kilometers west of Dumaguete City.

The LPA is predicted to cross Visayas and move toward Palawan. While it is over the sea, Aurelio said, the LPA may strengthen into a cyclone, upon which it will be named “Kiko.”

Aside from the LPA, the effects of the intertropical convergence zone will bring rain to Mindanao and Visayas.

There will be occasionally heavy rain showers and thunderstorms in Western Visayas, Zamboanga, SOCCSKSARGEN, the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao and Palawan.

Meanwhile, there will be light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, CALABARZON, Bicol, the rest of Visayas and Mindanao, as well as the provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The rest of Luzon will experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

MANILA – PAGASA is monitoring a low-pressure area near Davao City that could become a tropical depression.

PAGASA said the LPA was spotted 190 kilometers east of Davao City as of 4 a.m. and was embedded along the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

Speaking to radio dzMM, PAGASA forecaster Jun Galang said the LPA may intensify into tropical depression over the West Philippine Sea.

Due to the LPA, eastern Visayas and Caraga region will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides.

MIMAROPA, Bicol region and the rest of Visayas and Mindanao will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rains and thunderstorms.

My post about Jolina, July 30, 2013:

While I am on vacation in the original TB web page, allow me to share here the latest of our weather situation. Hehehe.

Latest weather update, as of 11:00 PM, July 30, 2013, the strong LPA west of Subic, Zambales has developed into a tropical depression and was named Jolina. Based on the latest weather models, Jolina's strength has reached a maximum of 55 kph. Based on its current track and speed of 11 kph, it is expected however, to exit the PAR around 8:00 PM tomorrow, July 31, 2013.

Jolina is in the waters of West Philippine Sea and therefore it is expected to enhance further as it tracks a west-northwest track going to Vietnam and China.

Based from the website of PAG-ASA, here is the latest forecast on the track of TD Jolina:
