Classes suspended in major Manila universities

MANILA, Philippines —Torrential rains prompted the suspension of classes in major schools and universities in Metro Manila Thursday.
The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM) announced the suspension of classes in its twitter account @AngPamantasan.
“Due to heavy rains and extreme flooding, classes and admin works in PLM are suspended effective 4 PM. PLM-CEP†it said.
Dr. Bryan Bustamante, vice dean of College of Arts and Sciences of San Beda College said on Twitter (@TheBedan) that “classes are suspended from 4 p.m. onwards, today, June 13.â€
The University of the Philippines Manila said that classes and offices were suspended at 3:30 p.m.
“At 15:30, classes and offices have been suspended at UP Manila due to bad weather. Be safe,†Chancellor Manuel Agulto tweeted using @UPManilaOnline.
The official twitter account of Far Eastern University @FarEasternU announced: “Classes in FEU Manila are suspended due to continuous heavy rainfall and flooding in surrounding areas.â€
The University of Santo Thomas, which lies along flood-prone España Boulevard, also suspended its classes as announced by the school’s central student council.
“Due to the continuous rainfall and flooding inside UST, all classes are suspended from 3PM onwards today,†the council said, quoting the Office of the Secretary General.
Adamson University also suspended classes according to the official twitter account Adamson University (@AdamsonUni).
“Classes and work today are suspended effective 4 p.m. due to inclement weather. Stay safe, Adamsonians,†it said.
De La Salle University (@DLSUManila) suspended classes on all levels and all campuses including offices.
“DLSU announcement as of 4 p.m.: Classes at all levels and in all campuses (except STC) including office work are suspended from 4:20 p.m. onwards,†it said.
St. Paul University Manila also announced the suspension of classes through the Twitter handle @SPUQC1946.
“Due to excessive rains and flooding in Metro Manila, classes in SPU Manila are suspended today, June 13, from 4 p.m. onwards,†it said.
Colegio de San Juan de Letran, meanwhile, announced in its official Twitter account (@LetranOfficial) that it was not suspending classes in the collegiate level.
“Classes in the collegiate department will go on as usual,†the Manila-based college said.
