Ormoc City Mayor Richard I. Gomez presided over the Ormoc Development Team (ODT) meeting at the Multipurpose Hall yesterday, May 31.
Highlights of the meeting were:
*Concerns on National Housing Authority (NHA) Margen, Ormoc City.
= The Office of the City Housing (OCHO) identified 66 beneficiaries who violated certain rules and regulations despite having been informed prior to the turnover of housing units.
= Fifty-six (56) beneficiaries encroached on roads beyond their boundaries.
= Ten (10) units used their easement as a store with their customers disturbing / annoying their neighbors during store transactions.
= Thus, the ODT agreed to refer this matter to Atty. Joy Romero of City Legal Office (CLO) asking her opinion on this matter within this week.
= Meanwhile, SP Member Jasper Lucero proposed drafting an ordinance addressing these issues for future reference.
*The PPP Center Project Development Service's technical team presented the Ormoc Water Supply System Project Presentation of Indicative Project Terms (PDS).
= It was found out that the existing water supply of the current system is not enough.
= And that there is an urgency in developing today an alternative, dependable, and sustainable source of water.
= The Ormoc Water Supply System PPP Project aims to provide a comprehensive water supply system to meet the demand for good quality and sufficient water supply, and an operation capable of providing Level lll service to its service area on a 24/7 basis, that is, continuous water service without interruption.
= The ODT agreed that ORWASA as the existing implementor shall remain.
= Furthermore, the body agreed that they are willing to explore other possible sources of water.
= Finally, the body chose the Joint Ventures scheme instead of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT).
