A PLEA OF OLIVIA VILLAFLORES YANSON TO HIS ELDEST SON, ROY V. YANSON
My son, Roy,
why do you allow yourself to be used by your three siblings and people who are not even family members to lambast your mother, in public?
You are my eldest son and you are supposed to have your own disposition. You should have played the role of mediator between your siblings. You should not have taken sides.
Why implicate me in this intra-corporate disputes? I am your mother Roy. Please respect me.
All I am asking from the four of you is to return my shares from the companies which your father and I toiled day and night to provide you and your siblings a secure future and to be of service to the people?
Why is it so hard for the four of you to heed my plea? If Ginnette and Leo Rey readily gave in to rerurn my shares, why, you, Emily, Celina and Ricky are too hard on me? Am I asking too much from the four of you?
Am I right to say that the four of you are afraid to return my shares because I will squander it to help the needy or give them to our employees? All of you are financially well-off. You have more than enough without my shares. Without my shares you can all live comfortably. Do not let your heart be consumed by greed.
I am spending huge amounts for my medical missions twice a year to help the medical needs of those who cannot afford it. I am not doing it for myself but for the good name of our family. I want the people to remember that we have a heart for those who need us. This is our way of giving back to the public for their continued support and trust in us.
I am appealing to you as your mother. I cannot and will never forsake you as my son. In your July 20 interview with media during your Sambok takeover, you had told reporters that it is I, your mother, who helped you when you were just starting a family. I did it willingly and wholeheartedly without you asking for it because I am your mother.
And as a mother, Roy, I will always be here for you, for Emily, Ginnette, Celina, Ricky and Leo Rey without any favoritism. Just reach out to me.
Again, I am not taking sides Roy. I am in fact the first person who gets hurt every time the public condemned the four of you. I spent sleepless nights crying for help to great heavens to keep me going. To give me enough strength to go on. Please set aside your pride and come back to me.
If you are honest enough to settle this problem, let us settle this amicably away from the prying eyes of the public. Let us come together as family. My door is open 24 hours to all of you.
I am still alive. We do not know what tomorrow brings. How long will I endure the pain you are causing me? I never prayed so hard in my entire life until this problem came. My heart is consumed with excruciating pain. You are killing me softly.
It has been a long time that we have seen each other as family. I would be glad to see the four of you knocking on my door and utter those words I have long to hear “I love you, Mommy” from all of you. But for how long am I going to wait? The very thing I am afraid for is not to hear it anymore for tomorrow might never come.
Show me that you truly love me not by just mere lip service. Prove it to me, Roy.
