The decade-long delayed Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) is FINALLY TURNING INTO REALITY!
Megawide and its Japanese partners signed Contract Package 104 of the MMSP — covering the construction of underground stations in Ortigas North and South and the tunnels connecting them. The contract has an aggregate estimated value of P17.75 billion.
76 percent of the whole MSSP, a large-scale undertaking that needs a substantial budget, will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) via a P370.8-billion loan package. The remaining 24 percent will be covered by the government.
JICA, the world’s biggest bilateral donor agency, has been supporting the Philippines through its Official Development Assistance (ODA) Loans.
