Inday Loren Legarda congratulates Libertad for the “Best in Business Empowerment” recognition during the Digital Governance Awards 2021
Three-term Senator and now Deputy Speaker Inday Loren Legarda congratulated the municipality of Libertad, under the leadership of Mayor Mary Jean Te, for being awarded the Best in Business Empowerment Award during the Digital Governance Award 2021.
The Digital Governance Awards (DGA) is an annual search for best practices among local government units in utilizing information and communications technology (ICT) to effectively and efficiently deliver public services to its constituents and to its business stakeholders.
Libertad’s entry, the eWaterworks, provides a digital system where data from the billing systems are integrated automatically into the financial system of the municipality. Because of this, the generation of billing of more than a thousand consumers is faster and more systematic through a bar coding system.
“I congratulate Mayor Mary Jean Te for bringing pride to our province and raising the bar in governance and delivering effective public service to our kasimanwa through the use of information and communications technology (ICT),” Legarda stated.
The DGA is organized by the ICT Industry Development Bureau (IIDB) of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), in partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the National ICT Confederation of the Philippines (NICP).
