TABAK NEWS, press release | A security operations was launched by the Joint Task Group Haribon against the Dawlah Islamiya-Maute Group (DI-MG) today in Brgy. Ilalag, Maguing, Lanao del Sur.
The Army troops encountered more or less 60 armed DI-MG members at 7:50 a.m., following the airstrike operations conducted at 2 a.m. at the identified lair of the terrorists led by Abu Zacharia and DI-Hassan Group Maguindanao. The two groups reportedly joined in the area for training and planning sabotage operations.
Initially, two terrorists were neutralized, and two high-powered firearms were recovered. However, one Army troop was also killed in the gunfight.
Clearing and pursuit operations are ongoing.
