Despite higher than expected inflation rate, American stockmarkets climbed 2.6% in one day. Last month the US consumer price index rose by 0.4% compared with August. Core prices, which exclude food and energy, increased by 0.6% month on month. Investors are all but certain that the Federal Reserve will deliver yet another jumbo interest rate increase next month.
