President Rodrigo Roa Duterte leads the inauguration of several development projects within the Dumaguete-Sibulan Airport in Sibulan, Negros Oriental on March 11, 2021.
The improvements include the re-blocking of the apron, construction of two (2) taxiways, expansion of the existing Passenger Terminal Building (PTB), runway asphalt overlay and shoulder grade correction, and the expansion of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Administrative Building.
These development projects have increased the airport’s capability to accommodate heavier aircrafts and expanded the terminal passenger’s capacity from 330 to 450. The airport will serve the provinces of Negros Oriental and neighboring Siquijor Island, and is expected to boost air mobility in the region.
