Angie, I think you are referring to State House Bill 334, which gives religious groups a special property tax exemption that is not available to other charitable organizations.

This bill is being protested by the ACLU, actually.

Alaskans are given annual pay for their stay in Alaska for strategic purposes. To maintain the population and settlement of the northern state. An incentive, so to say.

Alaska, for the United States, is of strategic importance because it is in the arctic ring and provides a permanent carrier base for the United States' interest in the oil rigs in the arctic region. Additionally, Alaska is close the Russian Border, naturally, would be of strategic military incentive for the United States. By that right.

Secondly, the state of Alaska is profitable in terms of tourism. The state is a popular site for American Gaming fanatics (wild life hunting); per se bear, elk, moose, seal, etc. Millions of dollars worth of tourist money is generated in that. Thus, provides a living and economic stimulus to the state.

Third and most importantly, Alaska is the center of ANWAR. Site of the United States Oil Reserves. Alaska is rich in oil, natural gas, and coal reserves. It is state that is literally resource-rich. Its importance to the United States is paramount. That is why there is a large naval presence in Alaska as well as a large marine and army presence.

No doubt the United States has already eyed Canada's own resources.

There was one time when the republicans accused Obama for palling around with Ayers and that made Obama a terrorist (accused, according to the repubs) and my husbands believed that too kay lagi he is a republican.

Banana was born an "illegitimate" from his wed parents

. The couple's relationship didnt worked and they divorced and gave him (banana) to his gramdmother kay naminyo man usab ang ija papa. (same as Obama) raised by a strict grandma and grow up palling around with different kids and a theft. Yes i would like to say that im so proud of his achievements. Because he became a very respected person because he became what he is now from hard work. But my point is, despite he pals around with a theft and bad kids, that didnt make him a theft but a very successful and respected businessman.

So mao na akong ingon niya when he tried criticizing Obama that, "what if Obama was palling around with Ayers and Wright does that mean he is a terrorist too? When you were palling and grow up with a theft did it make you a theft?"

At that moment he really realized that i was right. He voted Obama, he moved him?

And i got this Obama blue truck on the night Obama won. He just didnt say nothing but gave me the key.

No, the United States is totally different from the Philippines.

One, the United States is heterogeneous. Americans are decedents of immigrants from Europe, Asia, Latin America, Africa.

Whereas the Philippines is primarily homogeneous. 95% of the people are of Malay ancestry and a minority are of mixed ancestry.

Secondly and most importantly.

The United States never suffered a dictatorship. Nor will it ever. The 2nd amendment, the right to bear arms, is living testament of our right to topple any government that oversteps and counteracts the truths made manifest in the United States Constitution, for which thousands upon thousands of America's sons and daughters were sacrificed in its defense. The American Constitution has never been altered, and shall never be. It has remained unchanged for 2 centuries and is the MODEL constitution that other nations base their constitution on. The Philippine constitution is ever-changing.

Developing nations, specifically, developing democracies strive and aim to be just like the United States.

The Philippines, politically, has a long way to go.
