Gallares Hospital in Tagbilaran will be investigated

The Department of Health (DOH) will send this week a team to look into the condition of the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH), which overcongestion against understaffing is affecting quality health care.

Not so much on pay and other returns, even fresh medical graduates lack interest in practicing there since the hospital's medical and anesthesiology departments are not accredited.

These and more have caused Rep. Edgar Chatto to worry about so that he called no less than Health Sec. Francisco Doque yesterday for appropriate policy guidance and prompt corrective measures.

The GCGMH, a government-run hospital of regional status, is Bohol's biggest.

In their phone conversation, Doque swiftly assured Chatto to send men from both central and regional offices of the DOH early this week.

GCGMH chief Dr. Nenita Moraga-Po was listening to the congressman talking to the health secretary.

The solon called to his residence and personally conferred with the hospital head yesterday on the whole situation of the GCGMH amid recent feedbacks from the public on varied concerns.

Among them are the death of a teenaged girl who allegedly did not get doctor's attention, improper security dealing with, if not manhandling of, a complaining mother of a patient, and arrogant refusal to issue a medical certificate to a cat bite victim.

sure is amazing how fast news spreads like wild fire after my column in JAPPHIL BANTAY BALITA after the fiesta certainly sparked officials to start looking into matters and how it has caught the attention of our local officails here to look at why things such as unexcused deaths are happening there.

Let's face it the place is so understaffed all of the nurses are going overseas these days and the babies being born are abundant and take up resources that are available.

People here need to populate when they have earned the right and that right is when they have money to support and have babies.

People here need family planning as again it is just way over populated for the resources we do have here which are nil or or next to nothing.

Asian after I had mentioned it in Bantay balita newspaper the following week the chronicle came out with the news.

It is the name of media and that is why you see many newspapers always balik balik in the news.

I have friends at chronicle who monitor what i write about in other newspapers that i write for as i try not to go after the same news that they will be writing about.

I find it very complimenting that they are interested to support me and media needs to get all the support it can from services LGU NGO anything of the sort and the support of the community.

Asian,always a big thank you for all your interest and research as well, it is always great to read things from people who have a pure heart such as you do.

It's a pathetic state of affairs that we stretch ourselves far and wide promoting the services of our nurses and health care workers overseas and yet suffer such shabby treatment for our family members and kababayans home. Sadly, even our doctors bear the indignity of enrolling as nurses to improve their chances of getting a job abroad...

As an island, with the closest alternative for medical attention in Cebu, Bohol should improve its hospital services, especially for emergency cases.

Our topnotcher in the doctor's licensure exam this year is from Tagbilaran. We have produced topnotch medical practitioners who are now reaping success overseas. What a source of pride for Boholanos! But what a shame as well that we cannot look after our own sick and give them decent medical attention.

This only speaks of our leader's wrong sense of priority. 
They want to go for the grander amenities without making provisions for the most basic ones. 
Tanawa, gusto og International Airport unya wa man diay tay klaro nga Hospital?

Kanang mga tawo nga nahikawan sa serbisyo sa Gallares Hospital, mao na ang mga katawhan nga pagatawgon og HARING LUNGSOD panahon sa election. Basta election hari sila, apan homan sa election, dili na intawon.
