Frankfurt Book Fair 2025
« on: April 08, 2021, 08:29:18 AM »
By Rep. Loren Legarda
Excited to work with the Nat’l Book Dev’t Board (NBDB) in making the a Guest of Honor (GOH)  in the Frankfurt Book Fair (FBF), hopefully, in 2025.

Becoming the Guest of Honor in the largest trade fair for books is similar to participating in the Olympics of the book publishing industry!

We are now taking steps to making sure that we get to that goal amid this pandemic. I’m glad to have met last week with @nbdb_phl Chair Dante Ang II, the newly-appointed ED Charisse Tugade and former NBDB Chair Neni Sta Romana as well as @mariakarinaa.bolasco and @anialmario , who are both Officers of the @bdap, and NBDB Directors Anthony Balisi and Ryan Esteban, and FBF Vice President Claudia Kaiser and FBF Head of Guest of Honour Programme Simone Bühler as we combined our common desire to push things forward.

We are a nation rich with talented #writers, #artists and #illustrators  whose works are worth showcasing in important venues such as the FBF, which will create more opportunities for them. That’s why, as then Chair of the Senate Comm on Finance, I ensured funding support for our country’s participation since 2016 up to present.

It was 2015 when FBF had a SE Asia Country as GOH (Indonesia). Here’s hoping and claiming that 2025 will finally be the Philippines’ turn, so stay tuned!

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
