Elements of the City PNP arrested at around 11:30 last night the suspect in the killing of Jack Arat, a marketing executive of the Bohol Tropics Resort Club.

The suspect is identified as one Jeffrey Garrote, 25, a resident of Maribojoc town.

Police Chief Inspector Jacinto Cesar, city police chief, said in an interview with the Chronicle last night, that Garrote was arrested following a tip from a concerned citizen that the suspect was selling one of Arat's two cellular phones which was taken from the latter after he was gunned down in cold blood in front of his residence early dawn last August 13.

A roving City PNP team spotted Garrote along Belderol Street, this city, but were able to arrest at Graham Street after the suspect eluded arrest.

According to C/Insp. Cesar, Garrote denied responsibility in the killing of Arat during an interrogation last night.

The suspect is reportedly a police character who sells stolen cellular phones, C/Insp. Cesar said.

Arat, 30, was a marketing and sales executive of Bohol Tropics Resort Club. He was shot in front of his residence along JS Torralba Street, this city.

Police said the apparent motive is robbery as Arat was divested of two expensive mobile phones and cash amounting to P15,000.

Is that guy any relation to MIN2 Garrote from DYTR radio programs Hoodyaka sa Kabataan and Star Quest as well as the beauty adviser from the same radio station. That would be hard to believe if that guy is related to her as she is so very very nice.
This will be interesting to see the outcome of this? Have you noticed people that mayor Lim after Jacks death has been wanting to blacklist media members away from police issues but on the other hand the provincial police as well as the city police are asking for media to help and is it not that media is a part of the five elements of helping to solve crimes and other unlawfully deeds?
