Fil-Am Suspect in Bombay Bazaar Tagbilaran Heist?
« on: June 19, 2011, 04:18:43 AM »
Published by Sunday Post

He was identified in the rouge’s gallery as one of the robbery suspects in the early morning hold up of Tagbilaran Bombay Bazaar the other Friday but a cursory look of his Caucasian features seemed to yield otherwise? Why? Is he a robbery suspect or a charming rouge? Not in the life of robbery suspect Paterno (not Patricio as earlier reported) Magdura y Magdura, age unknown of Aurora, Pilar town, in a radio interview inside his jail cell Monday. Making hype of his good looks, the suspect who is known of his alias as “Kano” said it would be foolhardy for him to pull off the caper without covering his face. The Tagbilaran Bombay Bazaar is located near a busy intersection along B. Inting and CPG Avenue. The loot in the robbery was P200,000.

Kano was identified by the Bombay bazaar security guard and two saleslady in a rogue’s gallery of police characters wanted for robbery. Saying his Caucasian look is owing to his American mother making him a Fil-Am, the suspect was nabbed while inside the S-Bullones Cockpit Arena in the afternoon of June 4 or less than 31 hours after the robbery was committed. In the same interview, he said his mestizo configuration made him impossible to commit the crime knowing that he will easily be identified because he becomes a standout in the crowd. But Senior Supt. Constatino Barot, Jr., police provincial director, was positive in his findings that it was Magdura who led the two others in the bazaar heist.

The Fil-Am suspect, however, in the same interview mentioned of a certain Arnel as the one who carried out the Bombay robbery. Glib-tongued by all indications, the robbery suspect appeared cool and collected during the radio interview, one indication that he was no stranger to crime. In fact, he admitted to have spent 20 years at the national penitentiary in Muntinglupa for the crime of murder. He admitted having killed an uncle explaining his time in jail but no way that he would engage in robbery knowing that he will easily be recognized because of his fine features. But whether he is a prime suspect in the Bombay robbery or he is a prince charming as claimed is for the city prosecutor handling his case to determine. He is scheduled for preliminary investigation on June 16 before Asst. City Prosecutor Bibiana Bautista.
