DOT confirms appointment of Cesar Montano as head of Tourism Promotions Board

MANILA, Dec 6 (PNA) -- The Department of Tourism (DOT) on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of actor Cesar Montano as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT).

Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo confirmed this in an interview with reporters during the sidelines of the Pasko sa Intramuros program in the so-called Walled City.

Teo said that Montano would assist in preparations for the Philippine hosting of the upcoming Miss Universe pageant on Jan. 30, 2017.

She said that it was President Rodrigo Duterte himself who appointed Montano, a staunch supporter of the President.

Montano is expected to assume office in the third week of December.

The TPB was previously headed by tourism marketing veteran Domingo Ramon “Chicoy” Enerio III. (PNA)
