Christian Rey G. Velasquez, the Proprietor of Manoy’s Inasal by Chateau Bistro and its basketball team’s Team Manager, paid a visit to the City Mayor’s Office and was welcomed by CMO Executive Assistant Albert Patrick B. Deen this morning, May 27, 2022.
Velasquez was accompanied by the said team’s Head Coach, Cliff Andy R. Tesocan, and Benjamin A. Da Jose, Jr., Team Consultant.
The purpose of the visit pertained to their request for LGU-Ormoc’s sponsorship for the team’s trip to Manila for an invitational tune-up game with some of the premier basketball universities in Manila to include Far Eastern University, University of Sto. Tomas, and National University, which will be held on June 13–17, 2022.
Accordingly, the basketball team is composed of 17 Ormocanon players, who are 19 years old and below.
The guests shared that an opportunity such as this will greatly serve their players’ basketball experience and help promote physical fitness and sportsmanship that should challenge the players towards athletic excellence at the Palarong Pambansa, and possibly a professional basketball career in the future.
They added that their goal is to provide a totally different basketball environment and experience to the said players to get them to the next level.
