MANILA -- A 9-year-old boy who was allegedly a victim of bullying at school died at a hospital in Pili, Camarines Sur.
Realina Bruca, mother of John Joseph or JJ, said she noticed how her son suddenly became weak and had bruises on his body last August 2.
She said they had no money for a check-up, which was why she only took her son to a doctor four days after he became sick.
The boy died on August 9.
Realina said her son's classmates recalled how he was bullied after getting into a fight over a chair.
Realina recalled.
She blamed the teacher who was not in the room when her son was allegedly bullied.
ABS-CBN News tried to get the side of the teacher but the teacher declined to comment on the incident.
The Department of Education (DepEd), which learned about the alleged bullying incident only on Monday, is now investigating the case. -- Report from Rona Nuñez and Rizza Mostar, ABS-CBN News Bicol; With ANC
