BOWACCC Chair Thanked PGMA
« on: February 26, 2009, 06:14:23 PM »
Mr Dioscoro Ayag Junior, a prominent son of Bohol, met our popular Lady President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ha thanked her excellency for all her all out support to develop our province Bohol.

Thanks to Jun for providing  us this photos and the positive developments of working with fellow kababayans in the Middle East, here quoting his email sent to me;

Just recently, I was elected and newly installed Chairman  (BOD) of BOWACCC ( Boholano Overseas Workers And Community Credit Cooperative ) for the term 2009 - 2011.  May I invite/enjoin  everyone ( all Boholanos and/or with affiliations to a Bol-anon  around the world – including locals ) to move forward for Bohol’s progress through “cooperative’ism”.

ps
Salamat jamo Jun Ayag for your laudable work.
Manay Tess

Hello All,

Thanks for the warm compliments.

(Luck speaks when a chat with the President was captured.)  It was on this photo that I thanked PGMA of all what she has been giving to Bohol which attributed to what Bohol it is today.  As you can see, the President was enthusiastically attentive listening the great things happening to Bohol that she even responded " Di ba kilala na ang Bohol ngayon?".

We were among the few who were given photo opportunities during the President's official visit in Saudi ( the travel - 8 hours (to and from) for the invitation by our very active Labor Attache David Des Dicang was worth it ).

On the membership of the cooperative, everybody is most welcome.  The financial implications for membership is very affordable which is equivalent only to almost a dollar ($3 ).  One may subscribe for the coop authorized shares up to 20-25% and a monthly obligatory savings of a thousand pesos (Php 1K ) or equivalent to just ($26 ).

We are envisioning to put up a microfinance bank where small entrepreneurs could be assisted like what the Bangladeshi Nobel awardee has advocated.

For those interested parties, please indicate your interest by sending emails to my yahoo addy ([email protected]) and will provide you on the formalities.

Looking forward to be with you on this endeavor.

Best regards.
Jun Ayag

Mura'g pupareho jud sa Grameen Banking system, calle, pero naa lang mga improvements.  We did a quasi-banking system in South Cebu with the Germans and kinda patterned with Grameen Banking system.  Kaluoy sa Ginoo buhi pa bya intawon hangtud karon.

calle and graziey,

Thank you for your intentions.  You are welcome anytime. It's really affordable.  You have both subscribed amount and savings.  We have mutual aid program for members in event of death of direct family members and for hospitalization.

Kung maghulog kag ginagmay dili lang gyod mahibal-an nga modako.  Mas expensive pa gud kon sige kag palit og pre-paid load? hehehe.

Inig uli na pohon (very soon) Grazie, atong ayoson tong refund from the initial payment we gave for the Corella lot aron maformalize na imong membership with BOWACCC.

Just let me know kun kanus-a magpadala ang membership form aron ma-accomplish.

Regards.
Jun

Glacier,

On membership, medyo ubay-ubay na sad but our preference would be on the quality of the members thru their commitment and not on the quantity.  Unsaon man ning daghan unya sa una ra og katapusan ra motongha, magpakita o maghulog?

So quantifying the membership is not the major benchmark for inducing a decision to join.  It is about the vision.

So far, we are more than halfway for the requirements of opening a micro finance bank; and we are working now to venture into revenue generating projects ( business/entrepreneurial activity ) in the name of the cooperative.

You're welcome anytime.

Regards.
Jun Ayag

Note:  Should anybody need a presentation about cooperative, please PM me so I could forward this material.

Hello Aduy,

BOWACCC was born in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and registered in the Cooperatives Development Authority (CDA) in the Philippines. We're the first Cooperative based in ME registered with CDA though there were informal finance groups sprouted in the past elsewhere.

Should you need to know more, you may contact me at CP# 502869910.  The next monthly meeting for the Saudi groups (EP) will be March 12, 2009 evening (dinner time).

Looking forward to hear from you.

Rgds.

Hi Bran,

Am just fine, occupied with my preparations for reintegration in not too distant future.

Though maybe Madame President is not popular but undeniably what she had done to Bohol is unequalled; and such Boholanos owe a lot of gratitude to PGMA. (as you can see from the picture, she was enthusiastic whenever Bohol's success is talked about).

Hope all is well with you.

Rgds.

Mr. Ayag, sir,

Thank you so much for doing so much for the benefit of the Boholanos and bringing so much pride to Bohol. I cannot help but smile when I see the face of  Madame President with yourself and respected colleagues.

I have a lot of respect for Madame President Macapagal Arroyo; and seeing this picture is like almost meeting her. lol.

Perhaps Madame President even visits this site?

With that said, Mr. Ayag, Sir, again, congratulations!

Best of luck and warm regards,
Bran

Hello Bran,
Helping is caring.  It is one way of giving back to the community in my little ways.  Hope this would be infectious to the rest; an inspiration for others that poverty is not  a hindrance to success.

Amen to that, Jun.

When you truly touch and change the lives of people for the good, most of the time they will not have a chance to thank you personally but for certain, they will be thanking the Lord for sending them an angel in you.  I always believe that good deeds begets good deeds.  Those people you helped will most likely help other people in need too in the future.   :)

Nice to interact with you here Grazie.

Despite the hardships our family gone through, I am not bitter with life. I've encountered people who were sincere in helping unconditionally.  That is why I have to give back to whoever in memory of some kindhearted men who've already left.  There is no amount of gratefulness I have for those people who have helped me at the time when I was less privileged; and in the process I've learned to grow, learned to forgive and learned to give and share bisan dili dato.

Jun, I also experienced hardships when we were growing up, but just like you, I was never bitter about it.  I felt privileged of having to go through the hardships when I was growing up because it allowed my faith to encourage me to persevere.  I didn't allow poverty to be a hindrance to get proper education, to dream big.  Nobody should.

Truly, sweet success comes when you've experienced failures, hardships  along the process, not the easy way.  And I've seen those low times as opportunities to grow, they've strengthened me to be determined that in doing good and perseverance it begets good things.

Thank you Glacier and Grazie for your compliments.  These inspired me to do even better.

Thanks Grazie, but there are also people who are bitter with the success of others.  However, one can't evade of  realities that there are people who are meticulous of how others bring inspiration and not happy to recognize especially when their own do not merit the same.

There would be no drama in life if there are no villains; but the good will always prevail.

they're just being jealous, sir, if they're bitter. you know--"the crab mentality". but when you believe you're on the right side, there's no one who can stop you from doing the right thing. you and graze certainly make a big difference in other's lives. you keep it up.

Glacier & Grazie,

May I share something about success. " The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you.  If you do that, you're in control of your life.  If you don't, life controls you.".

Ugma man ang sunod meeting (this is the monthly informal meeting, not the General Assembly) but I have to excuse early as I am committed to attend the final selection of the contestants for the singing competition for the coming Independence Day celebration titled "Awit at Sigla" being one of the judges.  So kon moadto ka dili ka nako maabi-abi ug dugay.  But I understand that a short notice is not ideal, hence, sa sunod nalang.

The meeting is set at 11:30 AM, but normally for Filipinos this is considered as a start of "assembly time" and I could only stay until 1:15 PM.  As said, this serves as a informal gathering among members intended for bonding and a venue for collecting loan payments, savings and subscribed shares.

Aduy,

I've conveyed the message of your time preference for future meetings aron ka makaattend.  Seguro adto na ta pohon sa Bohol magkita kay plano man ko mamesta sa atoa, unya ang atong meeting sa BOWACC is held normally on the second Friday of the month dinhi sa Saudi, so next month wala ko dinhi.
