Today, February 6, marks another milestone for The Mindanao Cross, the oldest running Catholic weekly newspaper in Mindanao and one of the oldest running community newspapers in the Philippines.
The Little Paper with a Big Cause has weathered countless challenges in the media landscape for the past seven decades. It continues to serve the public in the midst of a global pandemic, the astounding presence of the digital world, and the increasing amount of misinformation circulating on social media platforms.
The Mindanao Cross, a perpetual time capsule in plain sight, is known for its advocacy for Muslim-Christian-Lumad solidarity, peaceful resolution of domestic peace and security issues, and for its continuing generation, through “community journalism.”
Leaning on this, the paper reaffirms its core values of Credibility, Integrity, Service, and Commitment. The “Little Paper with a Big Cause” will continue invigorating the “Big Cause” – service to the Church and the Community.
