I am aware a few of Martin's friends from the past who had tried their hardest to get to the bottom of these two british murders that happened just about back to back last year in march. But there things are handled very different indeed.
Recently one of Martin's close friends came to Bohol in fact just last month and he had emailed to his friends there his same sentiments and discusts that you are sending in regards to your case about your stepdad's case not yet solved.
They will not re-open another case in Philippines unless you can prove a motive or have sustainable evidence on any suspect, mastermind or perpretrator and most of all they want to get the ones who are involved with the actuall crime itself as masterminds and pre meditated planners of murder or hard to be proven guilty.
They will re-open any case if the family makes a letter to the chief of Camp Crame in Manila Philippines only if you have convinced the CIDG or the regional Chief of NBI in Cebu of the local province/region that you or your own investigating team have come up with evidence and strong motive as to why and how it was done and who is actually involved with the murder from the plan to the actuall killing.
Martin's family in England easily let go of the case and lost all hope and basically treated those who did try to find justice for their loved one absolutley horribly, and his Filipina wife did not give help or aide or leads to anyone in helping find those involved she just went after the little school boy who admitted to stabbing her husband 9 out of (14) 23 times. A lot of work was done on a private side by some of his friends of at their own expenses not with the help from the family in England or again from his wife, of course with-out any thank you's.
Steve an NBI Atty. once said that if a death or murder happens there in the Philippines to an outsider it is not really a high priority to go after the killers and no one there cares truthfully no matter how nice you think they are. In your country maybe if a foreigner visiting there is murdered your law officails may do their best to find the ones involved and do not need permission to keep or re-open the case am I right?
The provincail PNP director who was on duty during the two British murders last year has been reasigned during his few years at the post there in Bohol around 7 foreign murders happened and they were never solved.
Let's hope with his new replacement PNP Director, Obenza that he can do a much better job in protecting the people and solving crimes more better.
I am also hoping for the honest resolve to come about in both the 2009 Britsish murders that took place back in 2009.
Many people have shown interest in the two murders in that they want it resolved. Your message is being read by many Steve. May I also wish you and your family the best in the day justice will truthfully pre-vail on both these cases.
I think the best thing for these two cases is for the persons involved to step forward volluntarily and turn themselves in, there it seems like the only way in how things are solved.
I honestly think the people especailly the private friends of Martin have given up due to the poor attitude of the law there, lack of support from his wife and family in England. Now that elections are newly upon the Philippines these cases will not even be thought of as they are not even being thought of now.
Welcome to the cold harsh truth of reality.
You yourself need to go there and seek for yourself with your own funds if you really want this case to be solved. Nothing is done there with-out a hired Atty and private investigator (P.I.).
If it was a local person being murdered then they would try their best to solve it, but since it is outsider it has not much personal impact on the law or the community.
