Opinion by Boxing Insider
Floyd Mayweather told the world he is the greatest fighter ever, his undefeated record proves it.
But when it comes time to fight Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather is quiet as a mouse. Until, Pacquiao signs to fight someone else, then Floyd comes out and talks some of his worthless bulljive and nonsense.
Shane Mosley, like everyone else in-the-know, put it best. If Floyd wanted to fight Pacquiao, he’d be fighting him.
Clearly Floyd, underneath the cocky front he masquerades, must be freaked out and spooked by what Manny Pacquiao is accomplishing and how he is doing it.
Despite his own outstanding, though perhaps overrated achievements, Floyd is lacking confidence to match his skillset against Pacquiao’s.
Which is strange because so many highly respected boxing world figures actually believe Mayweather can defeat Pacquiao. Tomasz Adamek, Don King, Mike Tyson, Emanuel Steward, Wladimir Klitschko, Bernard Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya, Juanma Lopez, Zab Judah, Sergio Martinez all believe Mayweather has the essential attributes to defeat Pacquiao.
You would think that the boxing IQ of that collective field of pugilstic genius would be enough alone to pump Floyd up and spark him into action, aside from the the enormous payday that is there waiting to be earned.
Yet for almost two years now we have seen no action, just empty, fake words from Floyd Mayweather about fighting Manny Pacquiao
