Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista's return to the US fight scene has been postponed and transferred.
The hard-hitting Bautista was supposed to see action against veteran Levi Brea on June 26 in Virginia but the fight was moved to Aug. 14 in San Diego, California.
"Boom-Boom will be fighting on a bigger event on Aug. 14 in San Diego, which has a large Filipino community," ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer said.
Aldeguer said the negotiation for Bautista's fight in the US is still ongoing and that there is a possibility the 23-year-old former title contender may be facing a different opponent.
ALA Promotions is co-promoting this event with San Diego-based Powerhouse Promotions.
Aldeguer added Michael Domingo will be included in the fight card.
Domingo, who recently clinched an impressive second round knockout victory over Luis Melendez, was recently turned down in a world title fight by interim World Boxing Organization bantamweight titleholder Eric Morel.
AJ Banal was originally scheduled to fight along with Bautista in the US but the 21-year-old up-and-coming fighter will no longer be in the event.
Instead, Banal will headline a huge boxing show in Cebu City along with world-rated Milan Melindo on July 16.
"Banal was replaced with Domingo because of the schedule. He hasn't fought since January," Aldeguer said. "We will bring in a named fighter as his opponent so that Cebuano fans can see Banal before he fights abroad."
Aldeguer said they will finalize the opponents of his wards within the week.
