Chapter 1. The first chapter introduces us to the epidemic that was cholera , apparently, historically speaking this epidemic was common in europe, a disease prevalent in the poorer classes due to the lack of hygiene and clean water supplies. The first chapter documents how the poor in western european countries were maltreated.
Such a long winded first chapter, nonetheless, interesting to see that cholera was a disease, like smallpox, that hit many communities in the developing world.
