By "buhi," what do you mean?  Alive and kicking or barely breathing?  :D hehe  Seriously, the group is still present and accounted for but we haven't been as active as we should be.  We have plans to come out with a folio soon, though.  You might want to contribute. :)

Whenever we schedule meetings, poetry reading sessions, and whatnots, they often end up as excuses to come together and eat, eat, eat, and drink (a little). ;D

re the folio: Sure.

Hi, Grazie! I'm not a fan yet. I only read two of his books so far. There are 2 more books in my cousin's room, which I have yet to borrow. hehe!

Sigbin gave me "The Alchemist" two years ago after he won a gift certificate from National Bookstore as a prize for his book review in one of the major broadsheets. (Was it for the Star, Paul?) I told him I like "Tuesdays with Morrie" but he could not find it at the stores (since it sells like hotcakes!).

So you like Coelho's works? "The Alchemist" was good. He was consistent in his style from beginning to end. He was consistent with the point of view of the writer/character. I like the story of "Eleven Minutes" but I hate it when Coelho jumps from a topic to discuss another subtopic at length. He also jumps from one point of view to the next. Well, lahi pod iyang style aning libroha. Nindot ra man gihapon! The topic is deep and philosophical, and SEXY! ehehe!

Hello too, Melrose! Yes, I'd say I am a fan of Coelho. I still have to read some of his books.  I read Zahir and Veronica Decides to Die and I can't remember what else.  I wanted to collect his books.  I only have two so far because most of the books I read I borrowed from the City Library.

I have Mitch Albom's Tuesdays with Morrie and his latest book, For One more Day.  I also have his Five People You Meet in Heaven.  PM me your address if you want me to send you some of these books.

Naa na diay ta'y National Bookstore?  Asa sya dapita diha sa Tagbilaran?  Thanks!

Currently reading my least favorite book, a text book for my Medical Statistics class, entitled Understanding Research Methods and Statistics.

Overall, the reading isn't bad, though I find it rather boring. Its repetitive, which helps at times in building retentive memory, hyperbolic variance, internal reliability, external reliability, erroneous factors, variability theories and its subtopics.

Highly recommended for all those interested in economics, hospital management, medical technology or medicine proper, nursing.

Hahaha i can see my younger self in you, Kyle.

You know when I was in the 5th grade, during lunch break, I would take my lunch bag and go to the school library. I was obsessed about Dinosaurs back then, I would take 5-9 books on dinosaurs, paleontology, etc and just read. One time i was reading one book that engrossed me about the Bronchiosaurus, one of the largest herbivore species to ever walk this earth, that i forgot the time and was late to class--45 minutes late. LOL. I borrowed that book over 3 times, hahaha. I used to get 'late book notices' from the library because i didnt want to part from the book.

LOL

Good 'ol' days.

hi, grazie! I read na 'Tuesdays' many years ago but it wasn't my copy. It's hard to find one gyud. I'll decide later today which book to read first. Is 'Veronica' nice?

I'm reading 'Blue like Jazz' these days. It's a witty book about christian spirituality. Someone lent me that book a long time ago and i had so many excuses not to read it. it felt that i know what the writer wants to share. i felt i don't need it because i'm a good christian anyway. (ha! mao ba gyud?) somehow, i know God has something to tell me. i started to read it again.

yes, naay national bookstore diri. it's in ICM.

Hello, Melrose!  I recommend Veronica Decides to Die.  It's a strange story but you'll learn more about the author thru this book.  How's that for a catch?

Tuesdays with Morie was a good one but after reading Mitch Albom's other two books Five People You Meet in Heaven and the For One More Day, I can't seem to decide which one I like best. Well, Five People You Meet in Heaven, it's nice because Philippines was part of it (the soldier having been to the Philippines during the war) and a couple of Tagalog sentences were written.  For One More Day, I also like it because it serves me a reminder that I shouldn't wait to be asked what I would do if I only have one more day to live.   Sige lang, Melrose, I will insert a book or two in the LBC box that my aunt is sending to the Philippines next month (I already sent two boxes before Christmas) and I will ask you then where to send it or you can swing by at my parents' house in Manga to get it on your way to get fresh seafood in our Manga mercado.

BASIN TAGA ISTE NA SILA... 'DI KAHA TAGA GUINDUNLMAN O SA CANDIJAY?

Karon lang nko na gets what you meant, Melrose! hehehehe

Diha daw to'y old lady walking in the street in Candijay with a bunch of beautiful flowers.  Another passerby asked the old lady named Manang Biday, "Manang Biday, asa man ka padung ga dada man ka'g buwak?"  Manang Biday said, "adto sa simbahan mag had aning buwak sa cholerang birhen!"  hehehe I didn't think it was proper to share this story being a devout Catholic but when we hosted a dinner for Bol-anon priests and nuns, they started talking about all these nasty sayings sa atong bohol like jawa, cholera ug uban pa na dili jud actually maoy buot ipasabot, so I decided to share this "joke" with them and I was glad I wasn't slapped with penance by the priests. ;)
