Long Gone by Alafair Burke

When Alice Humphries gets hired for her dream job, managing an art gallery in Manhattan, she thinks she will finally be able to come out of the shadow of her famous director father. Alice arrives at work one day to find the gallery walls stripped and the body of the man who hired her, lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the floor. The police think Alice is responsible and as the clues continue to mount, Alice realizes that her dream job has become a nightmare.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. - John 3:16-18
