Study finds military, police susceptible to HIV infection
Published: December 10, 2006 by The Bohol Standard

A REVELATION from the newly created provincial AIDS (Acquired Immunity Deficiency Syndrome) Monitoring Council said that most susceptible to infection of the deadly HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) are members of the military and the police. This is obviously caused by the constant transfer of assignment related to their jobs and the prospect of being promiscuous being away from their families.

The observation however is not sweeping and depends on the person concerned, Dr. Purisima Mary Uy, Medical Specialist IV of the Provincial Health Office and a member of the monitoring council said.

Human infection with the deadly HIV virus results in a complex clinical disease known as acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS).

City health officer Dr. Antonio Porticos also revealed during the Kapihan sa PIA that there are two confirmed HIV positive overseas Boholano workers but their names are being withheld to protect their rights. The danger of infection lies in having sex with women GROs (guest relations officers) who are not registered with the city health office and have no regular hygiene and health records.

Milagros Israel, PHO HIV Watch Coordinator and member of the AIDS Monitoring Council, had also tapped the help of the media in the renewed drive to disseminate the dangers of the HIV virus.

Romans 10:9-10
"If you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."
