Herrera endorses Chatto for solonPublished February 4, 2001 - Bohol Chronicle
Vice Gov. Edgar Chatto surfaced as the most assured congressional aspirant who will be declared as the official bet of Lakas-NUCD in Bohol's first congressional district.
This development followed after Rep. Ernesto "Boy" Herrera, the incumbent first district congressman, himself, endorsed Chatto to succeed him.
During an interview, Herrera said that he is determined to go back to the Senate, thus, paving the way for Chatto's congressional bid.
It maybe recalled that during the 1998 polls, Chatto could have run for congressman, but was prevailed by Herrera who ran for Congress after his last term as senator.
Political observers said that with the national exposure Herrera has been getting since he started to be anti Estrada, his senatorial bid is all-set for the May 14 elections this year.
Chatto is presently the national president of the Vice Governor's League of the Philippines.
Possible to contest Chatto for the Lakas anointment is former Rep-Venice Borja Agana.
Reports said that Agana is trying to find her way to the Lakas nomination through former Speaker Joe De Venecia.
Agana has vowed to run again for solon if she gets the Lakas party nomination. She had served the mandatory three- congressional term.
