Loren Legarda to grace media awards

The Bohol Tri-Media Association (BTMA) will hold its first Excellence Awards Ceremonies on December 4, Monday night at the posh Bohol Tropics Resort, this city.

Invited as keynote speaker is former Senator Loren Legarda, who is herself, a respected print and broadcast journalist.

Legarda will be assisted by Gov. Erico B. Aumentado in handing the excellence recognition plaques to 12 awardees, all association members and are known personalities in their respective field of media work.

BTMA members include radio stations DyRD AM-FM, DyZD-Ubay, DyTR AM-FM, DyDL-FM Carmen, Bohol Community Cable TV, prestigious print outfits like the Bohol Standard, Bohol Chronicle and the Bohol Times.

This year’s awardees are: Inyong Alagad, Best Public Service Program hosted by Fred Araneta- DyRD-AM; PULSO as Best Public Affairs Program hosted by Kagawad Roberto “Batchoy” Alba and Chito Visarra – DyRD-AM; Best Newscaster Fred Araneta- CBB Breakfast News-DyRD-AM; Best Anchorman Fortunato “Atoy” Cosap-DyRD AM; Best Columnist Atty. Salvador Diputado - Bohol Times; Best Editorial – The Bohol Chronicle; Best News Writer Fred C. Amora -The Bohol Standard; Best Feature Writer Loreto “Loy” Palapos; Best Photo Journalist Danny Reyes -The Bohol Chronicle; Best Field Reporter Dodong Libatona- DyTR-AM; Best Radio Commentator Pedro “Pedy” Bolanio-DyRD-AM and Best Editorial Cartoonist Ariel Fullido.

BTMA Vice President for Broadcast and also Comnet-DyTR’s general manager Carlito Responte will give the welcome address while DyRD station manager and BTMA President Peter Dejaresco will render the recap of the organization’s year-long activities and its future thrusts dubbed as “The Year That Was, The Year To Be.”

The head of the Provincial Government Media Affairs (PGMA) Antonieto “Boy” Pernia will also grace the affair, bringing with him Capitol’s warmth and rapport for the ever-supportive but sometimes “critical” media.

House Representatives Atty. Edgar M. Chatto (1st District-Bohol), Atty. Roberto Cajes (2nd District-Bohol) and Atty. Eladio M. Jala (3rd District-Bohol) will each give their solidarity messages.

The awarding ceremonies will be led by Loreto “Loy” Palapos, Chairman, Excellence Awards Committee and Past BTMA President.

Introduction of the guest speaker will be done by BTMA Vice President for Print, Atty. Salvador Diputado.

Capping the night will be the association’s Christmas Party, celebrated with a dinner-fellowship, talent show, distribution of gifts, raffle draws, disco and pictorials that will preserve precious memories of BTMA’s first excellence and recognition rites.
