NBI busts P5.5 million jewelry, feeds scam
TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol May 25, 2016 (PIA)--In just a month, the Bohol field office of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) succeeded in busting at least two swindle groups which have a potential to squeeze out P5.5 million from unsuspecting individuals.

At the Provincial Peace and Order Council, NBI Bohol through lawyer-agent Archie Albao reported the bust of swindling groups and the service of arrest warrants as well as the filing of appropriate estafa charges for the two groups.

Surveillance and investigation work paid off for the local office in Bohol with the successful operations it can credit to its accomplishments for the month, Albao shared.

He also added, their dedication also led them to get into a lending collector who allegedly misappropriated his collections amounting to P90 K.

With that, the investigation bureau in Bohol worked for his arrest and filing of appropriate cases to bring the culprit to the court.
It happened May 18, when the bureau went to Valencia to serve the arrest warrant after filing qualified theft against collector Jayson Lagahit.

In their accomplishment report dated May 1-18, Atty Albao, who reported for Atty, Renan Oliva, Bohol NBI Agent in Charge, added that they also earlier, busted last May 7 an alleged P5 million jewelry swindler.

The suspect, NBI identified as Isabelle Undalon Alferez.

NBI said Alferez has been operating a jewelry scam in Tagbilaran, and after her capture, her case is now currently on trial in one of the courts here.

Ten days later, or on May 17, the NBI again swooped down into a couple in Loon who have been tagged for P.5 million farm feeds scam in the Visayas.

Now facing two counts of estafa and are currently on trial are Arelyn and Herman Oyson Jr., whom the NBI said operates also in Cebu but have chosen to settle in Loon.

Within the reporting period, Albao also said the NBI also succeeded in an anti-illegal drugs operation resulting in the capture of a minor, two more, and the recovery of assorted drug paraphernalia in Ubay, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in Carmen, illegal gambling in Tagbilaran and a child abuse case in San Miguel town. John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
