Bohol barangay officials today trooped to see their new capitol and new governor, Arthur Yap, 38 days since he assumed the province’s highest elective office.
The 26th Bohol governor welcomed them as he had also them meeting with some provincial department heads on varied concerns affecting the grassroot constituency.
Yap turned over assistance for different projects, Philhealth member data records (MDRs) for the barangay officials themselves, and Botika sa Barangay kits.
In an ensuing forum, the following department heads presented different provincial programs and heard several concerns raised by the barangay officials—-Provincial Health Officer Reymoses Cabagnot, Provincial Agriculturist Larry pamugas, Provincial Veterinarian Stella Marie Lapiz, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer Carmelita Tecson, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer Anthony Damalerio, Provincial Budget Officer Peter Retutal and Provincial Engineer Camilo Gasatan.
The visiting barangay officials came from the province’s Third District, which former congressman is Yap no less.
Yap had gone to all the barangays of his district while he was their solon.
He said it is now the turn of the barangay officials to come and see their new provincial capitol.
The governor is setting separate times to personally see the officials of the First and Second District barangays.
In his campaign rounds especially in the island barangays off Second District, Yap was appalled by the living condition of the people who have no access to care and facilities on health and sanitation, water, electricity.
For Yap, allowing neglect to continue consuming their human dignity is too much hurtful a mistake
