The thanks goes to Joseph Noriek, Mike. He is the one that took them, and his story is so different from many of ours, he doesn't know Tagalog (only some phrases), nor does he know family members in the Philippines. He was adopted by an American family, and is completely Americanized. But even with this--despite the fact that he was raised in middle America, exposed to all American things, culture, friends, family, love, etc.
In his heart, deep inside him, knew that he had to go back to visit where he came from. To see, with his own eyes, what
his people look like.
I admire him, Mike, because he is very faithful. A religious guy, very intelligent and a good friend. And I believe that the Lord guided him back to the Philippines to see where he was from, to see the nuns and priests that took care of him when he was only a kid.
It brings me to tears, jud Mike. He didn't have to go to Philippines, he could have forgotten it as he has no living memory of it (besides that he was born to Filipino parents). But he went back.
It humbles me, Mike. So very much.
