The ija-ija aho-aho thing
« on: November 21, 2008, 12:05:21 AM »
Do you agree that we boholanos are really having an ija-ija aho aho attitude?
I really don't want to hear people saying: mura man ka ug taga bohol, ija-ija aho-aho.
It's because i know that boholanos are helpful, sharing and kind.

Here's a quote from Capitan Berong's post last year.

;D

Sa atong pagka kuripot eh di ba pulos ta dunay tinago-an?

We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.

Does it matter? All these attributes linked to Boholanos help much in strengthening their recognition and respect to us, that Boholanos are really that humble, smiling, cool headed, smart, and in every aspect, have a good sense of humor. They consider Boholanos as a catalyst in every close and wholesome conversations because dull moments are out when Boholanos are in. These are the tools Boholanos used in introducing themselves to erase some misunderstanding that bohol to Tagalogs means 'tali'; bohol-bohol means 'salinggubot o magulo'. In reality Boholanos are not that troublemakers. We are cool-headed people reflective of our very own tarsiers in Corella. I am a proud Boholano despite of all odds and evens! LOL

I agree with this statement.

I don't like generalizing peoples and categorizing them.

We are all different, and unique in our own way. And one thing I know about Boholanos, from the fact that I am one, is that we are a helpful bunch of people.

Boholanos are also extremely religious. The Catholic Faith emanates from us, and proud celebrants of our colorful Fiestas!

Even here in America, during January time, we celebrated the Fiesta of Valencia and celebrated the Blessed Santo Nino.

Valencianons from New Jersey-New York area met up at our place to celebrate the Blessed Santo Nino and have our own family fiesta.

This is why I love being a Valencianon. And a Boholano.
