These pictures were taken sometime last year wen I was still a senior in Allegheny. Odd that I found it in my hard-drive. lol. Hilarious picture of my friend Katie marinating food and trying to scare me as I captured her in film. Good times, good memories.

Ms. Shimizu trying to scare me.  ;D

Now, what are you doing, Katie? haha

LoL, at my request.

(taken last year)

Physics Fun!

My professor wanted me to show my work; but why show work when you can solve a problem with a simpler equation? lol

Saves energy and saves chalk! :P

Btw, both equations are 100% correct, even if a professor decides to subtract 2 points from the simplified equation because it didn't 'show the work'. I argued with him that it made no sense to show 'work' when there was equation that simplified the longer form; thereby reducing the need to use the older form. Same concepts. It's the reason why the 'simplified' form was created in the first place.

He never gave me that 2 points, btw. Arg! lol.

Who said Medical Students can't have fun? :P

Some of us medical batch mates decided to go out and celebrate our post-exams this week. It's amazing to believe that there is only 2 more months left of our first semester of 1st year medical school. Aside from deleterious work and constant reviews, we medical students can, afterall, take a moment 'off' from work. lol.

Kurt, Jen, and Gary; 1st year meds

Dr! and Dr! hahaha!

Clarence after our Medical Embryology Exam. hahaha! This is the effect of 36 hours of no sleep and just constant reviewing.

I visited Ate Ging today and took a few pictures outside.

Ate Ging really liked this picture because it shows "emotion"  ;D

The original picture was WAY darker, but thanks to my newly obtained digital imaging skills I know how to adjust everything to make dark pictures look pretty.  ;D

Wall of Pain - Zid boli
Wall of Truth about Martyrdom of Croatian People - The Voice of Croatian Victims

The Wall of Pain (Zid boli) in Zagreb is a memorial for all Croatians who were killed or disappeared during the Greater-Serbian aggression on Croatia (1990-1995). It was built in 1993 by mothers and relatives of killed and missing soldiers and civilians upon the initiative of Mrs Zdenka Farkas, and placed around the building where UN Peace Mission to Croatia had its headquarters. It has been built as an appeal for humanity and human rigts addressed to the UN. Croatia was in flame at that time, many towns under siege and fierce bombarding from earth and air.

The Wall of Pain consists of 13,650 red and black bricks.
Relatives wrote the names of missing people on the red ones,
the black ones symbolise the deads.

con´t Wall of pain

Each brick symbolizes one tragic story, one life that ended brutally
during the aggression on Croatia.

The bricks were moved to the Zagreb cemetery in 2005,
which caused many protests in Croatia.

The wall dissappeared on November 5th, 2005, early in the morning at 5.30 AM, when it was ruined in complete secrecy, the bricks being moved to the Zagreb cemetery.

There are still ethnic cleanising in these modern times! So you could imagine losing  love ones and not knowing his/her whereabouts.
This happened with my collegue, she is a Serb( Orthodox Catholic) and her husband a Croate
( Roman Catholic), she had a son from first marriage and they both got a son of their own. There was a heated argument about religion and ethnic belonging in the old history of Yugoslavia, the sons killed the man and was left  for 4 days in cellar and was threwn away 250 from their house.
It is the same with Armenians, Kurds and  Palestines, there are strong hatred because of the past history.

ps
What is the message of Our Lady of Medrugorje? Has it something to do with the present situation?

Ma'am Tess,

It is always so disheartening to hear stories of ethnic cleansing of innocent peoples. And it is in my firm belief that until we curve such actions in our societies, the human race has so much to improve. My prayers for the innocents that were silenced. God rest their souls.

Some picture of this weekend when some of us stressed-out and exhausted medical students decided to 'release' our stress by cooking. Hahaha. Sidrah, Shalabh, Job and I decided to cook our own respective foods and had a pot-luck event. Sidrah and Shalabh cooked Chicken Karahi, a Pakistani dish; Job cooked Sweet and Sour Chicken and I cooked Bol-anon style Chicken Adobo. The theme for the night was 'chicken' because we ended up watching horror flicks afterwards. hahaha.

:P

Shalabh, enjoying himself. maybe because the food was done?
