My thoughts:
Where did this come from? What just happened? My mind reverberates on the rhetorical: "how could this happen to Japan? Can this happen to Japan?"
Of all the countries in the world, it is Japan that is most prepared for such calamties such as tsunamis, earthquakes, etc. It was made known to me in a report from ABC that the Japanese have an advanced emergency plan that sends out messages via electronic communication to all citizens in cases of imminent natural catastrophes.
Yet despite this. Despite such structural engineering that prepares and boldly stands up to nature, the tsunami occurred.
As of right now, the Japanese authorities are estimating that over 10,000 are dead. I read reports that the Japanese are cremating dead by the dozens and that the crematoriums in around the region of focus are beyond capacity. Over 100,000 Japanese soldiers are apparently being deployed to the center and the areas hit by the catastrophe.
Everything seems to be normalizing now as help and reinforcement are coming in. Yet, still, i cant help asking the same question, "Did this really happen?"
I guess, it is true that no one, no people, no nation, can be truly prepared for nature's fury. Man's technology and advanced systems, which Japan clearly embodies technological precedence, cannot stand up to Nature's Fury.
