My Final Comment on Ms Da Binsi's Letter of Resignation
« on: March 21, 2008, 10:15:19 AM »
Dear Belle,

I don't immediately react to any kind of situation. I gather my thoughts first, separate the chaff from the wheat, then I write.

I have written my public comment on your letter, now I am writing a private comment.

First, I was completely unaware of any friction that was going on between you and (deleted). With the demand of my work and studies, it is almost impossible for me to follow thousands of posts every day. That if no one would notify me of anything that has gone wrong, I would not know it immediately.

Second, your letter shocked me and it created a horrifying impact to thousands of TB visitors. It left the rest of our TB friends wondering, creating anxiety, and imprinting sadness in the hearts and minds of our friends. So I wrote you an open letter with reference to "building a tower."

There is much confusion since there was nothing in the resignation letter that explained the true reason why you wrote it.

We cannot read people's minds.

We cannot assume that people are aware of what was going on between you and (deleted).

Even I, who is online in TB on most hours of the day and night, was not aware of the untold conflict. It is therefore expected that the rest of us, except for Hazel, are left wondering, asking, confused, puzzled.

There are so many questions but there are no answers.

Since you wrote your resignation letter, I notice a significant drop of site visitors to TB and many members are no longer logging in TB.

Probably they were thinking I hurt you or I did something wrong to you, so you left.

You haven been entrusted to be one of the global admins and to lose a global admin via an open resignation letter has created so many assumptions - and many of these assumptions were targeted on me because people have no idea about your true sentiment toward (deleted).

My principle on life is that I would never walk away from a good fight or a good cause. If I were in your shoes, I will confront (deleted) in public and let the public decide who is doing the right thing. I will rather do it this way than leaving people wondering, asking, confused, puzzled. It's like breaking up a girlfriend, walking away from a date in a restaurant, and the girl is left crying, wondering, asking, confused, puzzled why her boyfriend broke her up.

I have learned many things about how Jesus handled conflict and relationship. When Jesus disagreed with Peter's suggestion of not dying, HE rebuked Peter by saying: "Get behind me, Satan." When Jesus was disappointed of His disciples' faith, He told them: "O, you of little faith." When Jesus pointed out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees, He called them: "You sons of vipers."

Jesus made things clear what He thought of His disciples and to His critics. What could have happened if Jesus just returned to heaven without dying because of His disappointment with Peter and the rest of the disciples who had little faith? That would leave His disciples and the rest of the world wondering, asking, confused, puzzled until now.

Belle, remember, Jesus never walked away from a good fight. If He sensed something was wrong, He made things clear to His disciples and to the public.

Welcome back,
Mike
