A friend in the U.S. nakahilak sa kahambog sa atong usa ka Filipino sa New York.

Sa pagkita daw nila, pagarpar dayon nga "engineer" siya sa New York. Gisaway
pa akong friend ngano naa sya sa Tennessee nga bukid ug mingaw. New Yorker na lagi
atong kanhi mamiyabasay.

Ug nasakitan sab ko sa gipaabmit sa atong higala didto kay kining maong engineer
miingon man: "I hate the Philippines."

Alang kanimo proud engineer: Diin ka man gikan, Do? Imong inunlan sa imong inahan
sa imong pagkatawo ning kalibotana naa pa gilubong sa inyong tugkaran diin didto ka
nagdula ug hantak ug lastiko sauna sa sip-onon pa ka?

Unsa may sala sa imong inahang nasud nga imo man siyang kasilagan?
Unsa may sala sa imong yutang natawhan nga imo man siyang yam-iran karon?
Unsa may sala sa imong gigikanan nga gikaaligot-gotan mo man siya?

Engineer lagi ka diha, pero ikaw bay nagpanday sa Statue of Liberty nga labihang
hamboga naman daw nimo?

Engineer lagi ka diha, pero ikaw bay sunod mopabarog sa bag-ong World Trade
Center?

Okay ra man unta nga dili na ka mobalik sa Pilipinas ug manghambog ka sa imong
pagka bulinaw sa dakong planggana, pero sa imong giingon nga "I hate the Philippines",
nasud-ipan ko sa akong giinom nga Jasmine tea diri sa Thailand.

Tinuod adunay mga salawayon sa among nasud, apan dili sama sa kabadlongon ninyo
diha sa Amerika. Wa pay namusil nga estudyante sa Pilipinas sama sa nahitabo sa

The word "Philippines" is an abstract word. It has no meaning at all without people (pure flesh and blood) representing the noun/word "Philippines."

How can a filipino say like that. as if diin gikan. Mao nay nakaapan sa mga langaw nga nakatungtung sa buko-buko sa kabaw kay magtuo pud nga kabaw napud siya.

So what kung dili na siya mouli sa pilipinas, Filipino gihapon siya. Kitang mga Filipino bisan tabunan pata sa pila nato ka mga papel nga magpamatuod nga dili nata Philippine citizen, dugong pinoy gihapon ang nagadagan sa atong kaugatan. Sama rana sa pamilya nga kung bisan unsa pa kabati ug batasan ang atong mga igsoon or ginikanan ba hinuon, pamilya lang gihapon nato sila.

Naa bitaw pud mga pinay diri, dili na daw sila kamao mobisaya kay 20 na sila katuig nipuyo sa Denmark. Para nako bisan pila paka katuig mawala sa imong yutang natawhan, dili nimo mahikalimtan ang sinultian nga maoy imong nimat-an oi. Kay kana nagadagan sa imong kaugatan. Maayo pa hinuon tong akong schoolmate nga taga Portugal, niingon nga, no matter where you are and no matter how long have you been away from your home country, you won't forget your mother tongue, because it runs through your blood.

Mao lagi Cel kay ang moduot sa Pilipinas ang uban ra man pong mga Filipino nga nanglangyaw na. Imbis hinuon nga magtinabangay ta ug magkahiusa nga mouswag atong nasud, idunlo naman hinuon atong nasud sa iya ra sab nga mga anak.

If you remember, there was a news that came out recently regarding a Filipina who was made slave by educated Filipino couple (mga doctor pa gyud sa Amerika).

They made this girl worked for them for 20 years without due benefits. Kay lagi dili man kaayo edukado ang babaye ug dili pud sya legal sa Amerika, the Filipino couple always threatened her that if she would escape from their house, she would be reported to the American authorities.

So for 20 years, all the hopes and dreams of this Filipina to be free and go home were held hostage by the Filipino couple.

After I read this story, I wept.

I haven't heard that before Mike. Mao lagi nay nakaapan sa uban nga pinoy nga nakaangat sa buhay. Paet!

I was working as a domestic helper in singapore before I came to DK, and thats what I've heard that the filipino employer is worst than chinese. Because in Chinese employer, we are allowed to go out and talk to our friends, but i know that not all of the chinese employer but at least we can talk to our fellow filipinas and make friends. But if its a filipino employer, they won't even let their helper to go out and see other filipinas. But fortunately there are only a few of them.

Some of them think that they are superior because they have higher education than us and some of them think that they are better than us because they arrive on that place or country long time ago before us. But still, we are all filipinos.

d first pinay jud na ako nameet warned me to be careful with fellow pinays. naunsa naman noon na ako naman magcareful nya because she and her husband are discouraging my husband to live for good in d phils coz it's not safe daw,etc. my husband told them that everywhere in d world is not safe anymore. my husband added that if u are destined to die, u will die where ever you are. da, wala lagi katingog.

two months ago, they visited us again and d pinay brought a present to my lil boy. she said, maau dri kay quality, sa atoa dili. oooooooooppppps! murag lahi ra da! so i told her na daghan kaau nicer pa and more quality pa sa atoa. when i checked d shirt, made in china sad baya.

It's okay to compare countries and people just for the sake of simple conversation. Pero kung sa pagcompare, atong inudnud atong nasud, dili napud maayo. Atong hinumduman nga atong mga minahal sa kinabuhi naa baya didto ug atong damgo nga mahaw-as sila sa kalisud.

Maybe something happened in their childhood
that made them that way now that they are
in a new environment.

Maybe their father never said a word of appreciation to them.
Maybe their mother never hugged them when they were young.
Maybe they were ridiculed by their peers in their formative years.
Maybe they were deprived of many things...
Perhaps even abused?

Something happened in their childhood that made them
what they are as adults.
The fear is that they may be bound to do to their children
how they were treated by their parents...

Daghan man gihapon mga pinay diri nga vey proud mouli sa pinas, especially bol-anon. I have a few frinds that will go for holiday in the philippines next month. Regular pa gani pag-uli ani nila, every year ang uban, ang uban sab every 2 years. And their husband is very proud of thephilippines too, especially bohol.

Ako 6 years na wala kauli, but it doesn't mean that dili nako ganahan sa ato... I've been longing to go home, and next year ang katumanan aning akong gipangandoy... Kay nganong wala ko kauli sa una? Kay walay iplete, kung pwede pa lang mamugsay ra, mangabang nalang unta ko ug kano hehehe

If not because of this post, I could see myself delaying my membership at Tubag Bohol. I first read this in friendster's bulletin from the same author of course. I read it orally to my husband, we almost fell off our chair at half past 12 midnight after some nookie. We so wanted to react, we logged in. Too bad, I've forgotten my password. I had to get a new registration.

Cheers to this post, it made me an active member, from a newbie to a junior in just a day. My goal is to be a hero by tomorrow.

two months ago, they visited us again and d pinay brought a present to my lil boy. she said, maau dri kay quality, sa atoa dili. oooooooooppppps! murag lahi ra da! so i told her na daghan kaau nicer pa and more quality pa sa atoa. when i checked d shirt, made in china sad baya.

Reading some of the comments in here, it amazes me that some comments are hate-filled. My response here is let them be who they are. Who are we to involve ourselves in their lives? If there are people who mitigate you, then so be it. Let them be, turn the other cheek and let it not disturb you. Just wipe grime from your shoulder and continue on with your own business and they with theirs.

I just find it rather disturbing how some comments in here are within the border of condemnation of other people. Due to their actions. Don't wish harm upon others else it will happen to you.

All I can say is focus on yourself, on your own problem and what you need to do to benefit yourself in your own present circumstance, what-so-ever it may be.

Focus on yourself. Help yourself first before you worry on others.
And most of all, evade too much chissmiss. Excessive chissmiss and negative talking is resounding of people who are bitter. Remember, small talking is for small people.

Let small people small talk. They always will do that. For us, just work and strive to do what you have to do to survive. Focus on your family, your profession, yourself etc.

Think positive. Think big. Think optimistic. Be Good! Glorify God! In the end, thats all that matters.
Remember, there are three things that are primes in life: 1) God 2) Family 3) Friends.
So focus on these first. They are more than enough to strengthen us. There will always be those who are envious and jealous of what you have and will try to bring you down to their disgusting level. Don't worry about them. Don't ever lower yourself to their level.

Remember this saying:

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

Dodong i had been an optimist person since i can remember pero these kind of people maka hugaw sa kalibutan, I cant just say nga leave them alone, they are the specks of the beautiful things in the world. I cant help myself but angry at them. And i think being a human being I am capable to be angry at them...

No one would ever have done that to me kay i would never give them a single chance to do so...
