Bye Belgium, Hello Philippines!
« on: November 24, 2007, 09:18:43 PM »
come december 1, 2007,next saturday, i will finally bid goodbye to my second country, belgium and welcome myself and my family again to the country where i was born, the philippines.

it's hard to say goodbye, but we have to. as my loving husband would always say, "Baby, our future is in the Phils. There are no family ties here, unlike in the Phils."

last sunday, tears started to fall like heavy rain, as herman's sister-in-law and her family invited us for a dinner. it was painful to see my husband sobbing while hugging them tightly.(im crying now again,as im writing this.)whew!

in the car, everybody was quiet. moments after, my husband kissed my forehead and my lips, he said, "Baby, it's hard to say goodbye but i will make it because soon, i will be leaving all my miseries. Real happiness will come soon." (it's too personal if i will share the trials my husband went through.)

last night, my 18 year-old stepson, Joachim, visited us. an hour before he left, i asked him if he could still visit us for the last time. he said that his schedule in school wouldn't allow him anymore. so this is our last time to see each other? i asked. as we hugged each other, my tears started to fall, and before it would rain, i told him i needed to put his lil brother to sleep already. i noticed he was teary-eyed when baby matt gave him a flying kiss.(ngek! nitulo na sad ako luha.) :'( :'( :'(

as i went upstairs, i was crying. minutes after, i could hear herman sobbing. i wanted to go downstairs to see Jo again, but baby matt was having his milk. i could hardly stop my tears from falling as i heard father and son saying goodbye in dutch. baby matt was awake from my sobs. i immediately carried baby matt to join his daddy whose eyes were already swelling from crying. when Jo left, herman kept reading at the frames with the inscriptions about a father which Jo gave him last night. at the end of one of the poems in the frames, it says, "Ik hou van jou,Papa." in english, "I love you, Daddy."

i can really understand the feelings of herman this time.

next week, we will visit my mother-in-law and my close brothers-in-law. what will i expect? super heavy rains again...

Miss Lumine, thanks for sharing this with us.

Kahilakon pud ko nga nagbasa...good byes are never easy. Although I'm sure your family is super excited to settle in sa Pinas, it is hard to think of the people, the memories and the life you will be leaving behind in Belgium.

Good luck on the move, Ms Lumine. Have a safe trip.

I can only imagine, Ms Lumine. My banana and I moved 3 months ago, about 4 miles from the old place to the new one. I was very emotional then. It was, quite honestly, super stressful. Unsa nalang kaha nang you'll be crossing oceans and continents sa inyong pag move?

Ms Lumine, enjoy your new life in CDO. You will like it there. Puhon inig uli nako, suruyon ta jud mo. Hehehe.

Nakahilak pod ko dah!  Though I know Herman really wanted this big move to the Philippines, I know it's still hard having to go beyond his comfort zone where he can speak his own language, nice weather and the thought that his family is just less than an hour away - even if he doesn't got to see them always.  I will always pray that he would be okay there and that adjustment period is not that hard on him.  He really needs a lot of emotional support there, Men!  I wish you guys all the luck and may Herman continue to feel blessed having us in his family. I am sending you my hugs and kisses.  I I love you guys!  I really do. I will always be here for you and Herman and Baby Matt!

Hello Lumine and Family,

It's hurt to say goodbye but it doesn't mean an end of everything. You will see.....a new start of your life in our very own Philippines would be a pledge of happiness. Good luck! Never been in CdO, my bestfriend whom I founded again after 23 years is from there. Who knows, I will drop by to pay your Family a visit in the future. The WORLD is too small, anyway. Have a wonderful trip! See you sa Dec. EB! Promise ha?

i know our move will be of my advantage,ms C2. im happy here, and i know i will be happier in our country. when i was writing this blog yesterday, i kept watching herman and baby matt while they were sleeping.i was controlling myself from sobbing. i just simply understood my husband's feelings this time because like him, i was terribly crying in the hotel in manila when herman fetched me up.

hello ms da bins! honestly, after writing this blog, i would have wanted to delete it that's why there is "last edit" because like you, i evaded from crying again even if i was crying while i was writing. but i decided to continue instead so that when i wil be in cdo already, i have something to look back and reminisce the emotions i have at the moment.

usually, it's ate ging who knows my latest happiness and sadness but i couldn't wait anymore yesterday to see ate ging onlie. and also, i know she has been busy these days for the thanksgiving party.

i maybe crying now as i read all your replies, but on the other hand, it's nice to know that my family here in TB is so understanding, caring, and very thoughtful as well.

Dear Ms. Lumine,

Goodbyes are never easy. Thats a fact that we cant deny. Bisan ako nakahilak nagbasa ani.

But be happy because although you are leaving Belgium now you can always go back anytime.
And I am sure that you will all be happier living in the Philippines because you have a BIG FAMILY there who loves you very much.

Life in Europe is nice but the one thing I really miss here is the close family ties that we have in the Philippines.

Be happy that Herman wants to move in the Philippines.
Be happy that you have a family who welcomes you there with open arms.
Be happy that you soon will have a Baby May. (I also smile at this.:-))Congrats ha!

Be happy that you will be able to escape the cold and dark winter in Europe.

Be happy you will soon have EB with GEC and Ms Bambi and the rest of the equally beautiful ladies in TB.

But I do undestand that it is not easy for Herman to leave his other son here in europe but luckily there is the phone and the Internet/webcam and although they dont see its other in person I'm sure in their hearts they are always close to each other because when you love someone so deeply, distance is never a problem.

Goodluck Ms Lumine and my hugs to Ondoy Matt.
I have many uncles who live in CDO so molaag gyod pod ko puhon kon makasuroy didto.

Take care all of you and Happy Trip puhon!
God bless you always!

with love from Sweden! :-*
