Outward and External stressors. We tend to let external stressors affect us, and sometimes, it consumes our being and affects our health. This happens to all of us. This past week I talked to a good friend of mine, one whom I haven't talked to in a long while. A good friend from California.
As I called her, she answered the phone and introduced me to a friend of hers via 3-way phone call. A really good friend of hers; in all actuality, both of them are good friends to each other. Through thick or thin.
Anyways, to cut it to the main point, the friend that my Ate introduced me to is a cancer survivor. She had her breast tumor resected and is now undergoing chemotherapeutic regimen. All the while, she was telling me of her faith in God and in praying the rosary. The faith that she exhibited, truly, is a testament to living and healing faith. I was so very touched by talking to my ate on the phone and also being to meet her friend via 3-way phone call.
Her living testament tells me, and teaches me that faith and prayer strengthens us. When we are weak, we will be tempted, but it is in times of stress and dire need that our faith in God should be strengthened. He will provide, strengthen, and rescue-- always. Her experience in dealing with external stressors (the cancer) and fighting it not only through following medical regimen, but enlivening her spirituality and faith through sound prayer (and the prayer from friends).
God Bless these two women. These two women who taught me a valuable lesson (which i want to share with you all) in the importance of sticking up for each other, supporting a friend in need and in trouble. Additionally, they both taught me the power and beauty of Prayer.
Simple, Honest and Solemn Prayer.
