In RetrospectToday is 4:14 PM, the 24th of April, the year of our Lord 2009.
Before I say anything or utter anything, let me make it known that the Lord God is truly great, and that all good things, good news, and abounding love comes from His Hands. That all glories, honors, and praises belongs to Him, and to Him Alone.
I just want to let it out! I am relieved!
Today we finished our last final examinations, for Medical Biochemistry and Surgical Neuroanatomy. As of 2PM this afternoon I am finished with 1st year Medicine.
Looking at the time I first arrived and moved to campus in early August, to the beginning of class in August till now, I have never been so stressed or time constrained in my life. College Undergraduate does not even compare to the incredible stress and limited time we have and are put under in medical school, especially 1st year Medicine.
Medical Gross Anatomy, Medical Legal Ethics, Medical Embryology, and Histology in 1st semester.
2nd semester we had Surgical Neuroanatomy (the most hardest, yet the most interesting class ive ever taken, so far), Medical Biochemistry, Genetics and Development, and Physiology of Human Body. Finished.
I have such a strong, strong feeling of relief. I think Ive developed over 50 grey hairs just on this year alone, lol! Perhaps I should buy a hair dye soon, hahaha joke!
I could not have survived this, or accomplished this without the help of the LORD GOD.
He who strengthened me in the hours of the night, when I thought i could learn no more.
Hard work, and sacrifice, though painful, really works. It is definitely worth the effort.
Yes, I will admit that I am VERY nervous and scared for 2nd year. Just because the fact that we'll be taking more clinical-related courses, and it inches us forward to taking the USMLE Step 1, the step 1 of the Medical Boards. Am I expecting anything different? I expect to maintain the average and simple scores I have attained this semester, with the grace of ALMIGHTY GOD be it HIS will, and to continue my average pace.
What I've learned this year is the importance of study groups, medical review sessions, and the importance of sleep. Never again will I try to not sleep for 4 straight days. As its destructive. Even if 3-4 hours ra ang sleep, better 3-4 hours than nothing at all.
To God be the GLORY!Linkback:
