Sort of funny but I swear it made and impact.
I had my one hour lunch then 15 minutes break and while waiting for time, I fell asleep on my table. With my eyes on top of my arm. I was awaken by the sound of fingers punching the keyboards, having a chat with the customers. And then I realized, my eyesight! Everything was so white and blurry. I can only see a person's silhouette and bigger stuff. I can't read a single word from my pc including the numbers on my phone, worst, I can't recognize the person in the pictures pinned on my cubicle. I was panic-stricken. To think my eyesight are way bionic. Sa doctor pa, If pwede lang over 20/20 (praise God).
I didn't know what to do. I stayed calm. I thought it was one of those early morning childhood days of "full tear-dried eyes". But no. Ten minutes passed, due to ignorance of what's happening, I was on the verge of tears. I approached my team-lead and told her that I needed to go to the clinic. (Oh yeah, thank you for walking with me to the clinic, and sorry for the failed attempt to cheer me up with the matchmaking. I was really on a "scared paranoia" mode.) And the clinic? Closed cause it's weekends.
So I came back to my cubicle. Sat still. Folded my hands and prayed. I was like "Lord please what is this? Help me. I promise I will not take nothing for granted. I will learn to appreciate what I see and not mock on anything that displeases my sight, just please don't make me loose it."
After I prayed, I tried to stay calm again. Minutes passed and it still won't go away. Everything was still white and blurry. I decided to chat with my nursing cumlaude office-mate. (With my head almost kissing the monitor.) I explained everything to her. And of course she knew what questions to ask and what actually happened. I went to her and she told me that it was due to lack of blood circulation to the eyes caused by my nap position. (I dunno. At least somebody knows) So I did obey and gradually the blurriness faded.
Funny? Pure ignorance? Paranoia? I know. But I learned, and realized something here.
