Mike is a wonderful guy who likes to remind us that our vernacular language is sweet to use.
To Luisa, we are so excited here and hopefully you show us some pictures of your reunion, por favor Adeng ko!

I just read this thread today. After reading Luisa's first message, I thought I can help this girl because I have quite a few friends from Dimiao, like the musical Gallur and Magadan families. But I am glad Bulak was able to make the direct connection. My eyes really welled after reading the exciting developments and the prospect of a reunion in a few days! Thanks, Bulak! Luisa, for not losing hope, you are blessed! Have a very very happy reunion!

It was Koddi Prudente who told me about this thread. I met him at an arts council meeting in Tagbilaran lately, and he narrated to me his excitement of seeing this reunion dream being fulfilled through TubagBohol.com and of course with the unflinching assistance of Bulak.

I hope this heartwarming story will be duplicated a thousand times. All over the Philippines there are thousands of Boholanos who for decades have lost their roots in Bohol. Thank God, technology will bridge the past and the present.

Welcome to TB Ms. Luisa.

Am happy with you to realize soon your dream through TB members help.   Happy Family Reunion to all and enjoy your stay in our beautiful Bohol. God bless you!

I also found a long missed best College girlfriend after years of absence through Tubag Bohol. We had our meeting last March 10, 2009 after not seeing each other in a period of 24 years.

many regards,
Bambi

I hope you can write about this, Mike, for national newspapers. Or better still, witness the act of reuniting.  A good article on TB's role in this case will certainly attract more Boholanos to know about and join TB. That will increase our rating from 4 to 10!

yup, that's a good idea, i was thinking of MMK before hehe but a news article would suffice. looks like Luisa has pictures to go along with this article...

i was more intrigue on the life/love story of her mom...from bohol to mindanao to manila to Laoag...the ilocandia. her mom would be bisajang ilocana  ;D

during drinking sessions, ilocanos call themselves GI = Genuine Ilocano ngarud
Luisa's mom would be, BI ;D

I can't help but cry tears of joy for this. Now I know why the string of messages in this forum are called "threads." It's because our lives are like threads that are enmeshed at certain points in the past, present or future, and this is the venue that spotlights those links.

I am also surprised by the many interconnections I have stumbled into since joining TB. I am surprised to learn that Jun Ayag's mom was a friend of my own mother, and that I was occasionally left to her care when I was just a toddler. Jun and I must have played with each other as kids. I don't really remember well...

That TB is able to connect new friends and reconnect old ties means that it has really penetrated not only Boholanos' lives but also people with ties to Bohol like Luisa. Motivated by his frustation at nobody ever answering any inquiry about or from Bohol, Mike must be truly happy that many questions, prayers and dreams are being answered daily in this forum. God bless us all!

sir benelyne, i did shed a lot of tears too, tears of happiness, i really can't believe it was that simple to find them after 45 years.. now, we can finally go home to bohol. :).
the feeling was so overwhelming, it was joyous... :)
if you really pray hard for something, God will do the rest, sometimes in such a mysterious way, that you can't almost recognize it's done... :)
another thing is that, there are a lot of people who wants to help, they are God's miracle.

bohol, we're coming home 8)

Welcome home, Luisa! Your smile alone certifies your Boholana blood! That kind of smile makes Bohol sunny--rain or shine.

Sad to say that our beach resorts are now adjusted to the tune of hard currencies.  It is very pricy in Panglao. You can avail of a public beach not far from Dumaluan and bring your own provisions. Check some websites on Panglao beach resorts. God bless Adeng Luisa!

Sa Dimiao mismo merong high-end resort. I forgot the name though, but it's very easy to locate because it is the only one in the highway barangay of Balbalan (what a name! In the dialect it means a place where the "manananggals wait for their prey). Well, we must not judge (the beauty of) a barangay by its name.

Hi, Luisa. I hope you will be successful in your search for relatives in Dimiao. I have been doing some search of my own myself....pertaining to the Basa side of my family in Guindulman.

I suppose it would be a big help if you would mention the names of your mother's parents as these would definitely connect them to people.

If your mama studied in the local high school, this would be a lead, too.  Presumably, this high school might have an alumni association that has a presence on the internet.

Or, try to get hold of the baranggay captain of the barrio where your Mama was born.  The captain's network is very extensive.  In fact, he might just be the best person to assist you in your quest.

Good luck.

Ricky

Hello, Ricky! Welcome to Tubag Bohol. Luisa's mom and aunt have spoken to each other already, at least via mobile phone.

actually that pic is an exception, common habal2x is just a motorcycle without planks or extra add-on and can ride 3 passengers next to the driver.

ppol in the barrio prefer to ride this rather than wait for other passengers to fill up a jeepney. of course if you carry a lot of baggages, then you're better off waiting for the jeep to fill up then go.

God bless you Luisa and ur mom and enjoy ur stay in Bohol and regards to your relatives there. do give us an update if you go to tagbilaran and find an icafe.  8)
