That's exactly my point... kung Amerkano atong doktor unsaon mani pag translate o explain? Maajog labad sa o kay moingon ra tag "migrane" pero kung "ngot-ngot" na gani sa kinailawman sa atong kalawasan, na mora... wa jud ko kabaw ana.

Kung e ramble pod ang word, "ngot"/"ngot2x" mamahimong "tong" (para pulis)/"tong-tong (climb up)" which leads to another translation "lagay" (either tagalog sa bigay o kanang gabitay) bwahaha. And on and on... Jok jok ra na bitaw ni ako hahaha

"Buna" is forehead, pero kanang "buna-buna" mao na ang parte sa lawas nga ibabaw sa genitals. Gilok bitaw na siya kon hapuhapon paingon sa ganghaan sa himaya!

Kinahanglan man pud og acrobatic skills ning posisyona, Ms. Bambs. Mas sayon kon ang buna ni Ondoy maoy mopakong-pakong sa bunabuna ni Inday.

Unsa may english kaha aning Dapaw- or gidapawan. Ex. ug magsuot suot tag kasagbutan dapawan ta. Related ba ni sa allergy pero lahi man tong allergy. Human akong mga bata magsuot suot sa akong garden akong ligoon kay hadlok ko madapawan pero dili baya sila siguro dutlan ug dapaw kay magligad ligad sa grass di man mangatol ako nuon sensitive ko ug sagbot feeling nako mangatol ko mao maligo ko ug masabdan ko ug sagbot. Psychological raman siguro ni akong dapaw.

Dapaw

kining Pasmo naa ba ni english translation

ug mapasmo usluban ta aron maulian

Taroy, he he. Ang joke ani involves an older man and a young woman. Ang baje motawag sa lalaki og "manoy".  Ang mga hilabtanon would say, "Hmm, pamanoy-manoy, manoy taroy diay." Ha ha ha.

Dili baja precise ni nga usage, kay "taroy" is roughly "pierce", which means we're talking about a sharp, pointed instrument. In the case of Inday, she is being penetrated by a blunt, round-headed instrument!

;D

Offhand, wala koy mahunahunaang English word nga maka-approximate sa combination of physical contact, position, comfort and tenderness nga gihubit sa "tanday". Bisan gani ang "caress", which should be a perfect equivalent of "hapuhap", morag gikuwangan man ko. Well, tungod lang tingali ni kay Bol-anon ko, dili Merkano, ha ha ha.

"Tanday" o bisan pang unsa nga pinulungang bisaya dili jud mo haum/untop sa pinulongang english maski aduna pa kini'y direct translation. Simple as that. Kumbaga lain jud ang "dating"... for the sole reason nga "foreign" (dili lumad) language kini para kanato. Hasta atong "sense of humor" (pakiat) kung e translate, mo us-os gajud ang pagka interesting niani. Unsa na kaha kung e translate pa kini sa German, Frances or Espanyol, samot na siguro? So ato na lang paga dawaton ning kamatuoran-a nga di jud ika-tumbas, hehehe! IOW, the best language nga mopahiluna sa atong "psche" mao gayod tong atong kaugalingong pinulungan... sama sa "the best food is mom's cooking" ug "the best soap opera" there is, para sa mga Pinoy, mao katong pina hilak-hilak (bwahehehe) kay mao gajoy nay ganahaan ug naandan nato sukad pa sa una. We grew up with it and we were molded by them, in a way! Gawas kung di hinan-awog sine hahahaha!

Merese kang "merese"ha ka kay wa pud kay Ininglis.,
Ahong duda aning "merese" kay corruption sa pronunciation of the first 3 syllables of the Latin word "misericordia". In both legal and ecclesiastical usage, this word means mercy or compassion. Ang "mercy" ug "misery" mao-mao ra, he he. The idea is that if you are at the mercy of God or a judge, you are by that token already in a state of misery. I guess we unfortunately adopted the nuances of the extended meaning. When we say "merese", instead of wishing mercy for someone, we taunt them with the idea of suffering and damnation.

I do have a query for all masters of Binisayang Bolanon (and other dialects):

What are the meanings of said words:

1. Jawa
2. Jati

I've heard two older Filipinas at a local store fighting and the two of them were using these words on each other.

Thank you, Maanyag.

I thought so--since they were screaming at each other.

The other one was saying, "Lecheng yawah".

I thought it was very inappropriate...

2. Jati

I've heard two older Filipinas at a local store fighting and the two of them were using these words on each other.

Jawa and jati are Boholano expressions.
When you say, "jawa," means you are angry.
When you say, "jati," you are happy or praising somebody.

I do have a query for all masters of Binisayang Bolanon (and other dialects):

What are the meanings of said words:

1. Jawa
2. Jati

I've heard two older Filipinas at a local store fighting and the two of them were using these words on each other.

my two-cents' worth:

jawa - boholano for demonio; y-a-w-a in cebuano
jati - a version of jawa, yati in cebuano (meant to soften the import of jawa)

both are expletives that have become coarse expressions as well though jati can be described as an expletive in disguise.

i think the nearest english equivalent is "hell" because i never heard or read any one-word english expletive like "devil" or "demon".

According to Prof. Leoncio Deriada, although I can't cite him in toto, "jawa" was a word denoting a woman of power (I don't know if this referred to a babaylan or a tribal matriarch) in the Visayan islands of the pre-Hispanic Philippine archipelago.  Supposedly, the Spanish colonizers equated the term to "demon" or "devil" to discourage the pagan faith and practices and also to remove any vestige of power or authority from women.

iring gibidli - cat on a hot tin roof, or cat regurgirating hair balls.
