Escapee is recaptured 8 Years Later in Bilar, Bohol

The long arm of the law is long enough for justice to be served, even as long as eight years later.           

An inmate who escaped from the Bohol Detention and Rehabilitation Center (BDRC) eight years ago found out that eight years is not long enough to extinguish a crime he committed for fleeing the coop.           

The suspect was identified as one Lucilo Doria, of legal age and a resident of Barangay Yanaya, Bilar town.           

Doria was arrested about 2 pm last Feb. 11 in his native barangay by responding policemen.           

A team from the Bilar PNP station proceeded to Yanaya after being tipped off of Doria’s presence.           

The arresting team that successfully collared the suspect was headed by PO3 Camilo Palgan.           

Sources at the Bilar PNP station disclosed that Doria was detained at the BDRC in 1996.           

He was arrested after he was tagged as an accessory in a murder case in the said town.           

The sources did not reveal the identity of the victim in the case in which Doria was implicated.           

After spending four years in detention, Doria managed to escape in a jailbreak in 2000.           

He was able to elude arrest and was reported to be in hiding in various places in Mindanao .           

Perhaps thinking that eight years is long enough to make people forget, he decided to return to his hometown.           

Unknown to him, there were people who did not forget.           

Not long after he was sighted in Yanaya, informants tipped off the Bilar police about his presence.           

A team was immediately sent to the area and successfully arrested the elusive suspect.           

He was detained at the Bilar PNP lock-up jail after his arrest but was remanded to the BDRC.           

Doria was back at the BDRC a day after his arrest after he was fetched by jail personnel.
