Sans autopsy, authorities immediately buried a decomposing body of a man found inside a sack floating near the shoreline of a barangay in nearby town of Bien Unido early dawn on the first Saturday of June.
At around 7 a.m. on June 7, Municipal Chief of Police PSI Domino Garcia Pelecio received a report from Suba Barangay Captain Edem Jao, through cellular phone call, that a body was found in barangay Pinamgo, municipality of Bien Unido placed inside a sack.
Pelecio then sent a team composed of PO3 Amado Amba, PO3 Cresente Gurrea, and PO1 Armando Abadies to the crime scene.
The responding team learned that around 5 a.m. that day, residents of barangay Pinamgo, Bien Unido found the body of an unidentified man placed inside a sack floating near the shoreline in the village.
The dead man bore a tattoo on his left shoulder that reads, “Elsie†and a face of a woman.
Long-haired and with mustache, the victim looked like he was 25-30 years old, wearing blue maong pants and t-shirt with blue and brown stripes.
He had medium build and fair-skinned, between 5’6†and 5’7†tall.
In the absence of a municipal health officer, no post mortem examination was conducted.
The body’s advance state of decomposition prompted authorities to bring it to the public cemetery of Talibon for immediate burial, as it already reeked foul odor that could pose threat to the health of the residents nearby.
Police continue its investigation on the incident though.
