Bacolod police intensifies security alert for opening of classes
BACOLOD CITY, June 1 (PNA) -- The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is stepping up its security operations for the opening of classes with the deployment of policemen in both public and private schools.
Senior Superintendent Flynn Dongbo, acting director of BCPO, said they are now on heightened alert in preparation for the school opening on June 13.
Station commanders have been directed to coordinate with the school principals, he said.
The 10 police stations will set up assistance desks in schools as part of safety measures.
Dongbo said the BCPO is intensifying police visibility patrol and checkpoint operations in the vicinity of schools.
Policemen in the city are also distributing safety tips flyers to students and parents to avoid being victims of crimes.
The BCPO also joined the Department of Education (DepEd) in this city during the launching of this year’s Brigada Eskwela.
The Bacolod police will later hold dialogues and lectures to students regarding the curfew for minors, ill-effects of prohibited drugs, and other laws involving the youth.(PNA)
