Why did Jesus weep?

The shortest verse in the bible is “Jesus wept” Why did Jesus weep? Jesus wept for us that we might weep no more.  He wept for you, He wept for me.  He wept for an undeserving, unloving, self-righteous world.   He wept because He knew that the day would come when so many would fall away from Him… so many whom He loved so much would fall away from the Father and fall into traps set by Satan and stumble into ditches dug by the world. He knew that the day would come when we would fall so far from His eyes and His light and His grace…. That we would no longer see His glory, or hear His words… or feel His love and warmth.  He knew that the day would come when we would be alone and lost forever… so Jesus wept.

“For out of much affliction and anguish of heart, I wrote to you with many tears not so that you would be made sorrowful, but that you might know the love that I have especially for you” – 2 Corinthians 2:4

My brothers and sisters in Christ, I appeal to you with a humble heart that we may gain the wisdom of the Holy Spirit.  Read and study the Bible with its entirety.  Do not cherry pick your favorite verse and do not leave out the ones that may seem to inconvenient your flesh.  As I have recently shared, let us become fishers of men.  We are to help lead as many people as we can to their salvation.  Doing it without a personal hidden agenda.  We CANNOT help save someone if what we do is APPEASE, ENABLE, & PERPETUATE.  In doing so, we are deceiving our own personal salvation.  Allowing someone to continue to be greedy, vile, selfish, corrupt and master of manipulation is not part of tolerance.  It is not part of forgiveness. It is not part of love.  It is only love and forgiveness if you can sacrifice and willing to sacrifice something in exchange of fulfilling what God has mandated.  For instance, if you believe abortion is a  heinous crime against God, and yet you are hanging out with the woman and focusing only on comforting her loss as she continues on her wild escapade with men and not advising her and praying with her to stop and turn away from it, then you are only doing yourself the favor of possibly earning God’s  love for your kind heart.  That is a tricky motive that we play with our minds.  It is not being judgmental to get to the core of the problem and start there to weed out the offensive issue against God.  Because accepting a repeat offensive behavior is a disservice to the person that you are trying to help.  How about showing them the path and taking them by the hand and together we give thanks and praise…. Most importantly, living a genuine life, a sacrificial life for others is the best thing you can do and say, “God I am not worthy of your love, I relinquish my life to you… I ask that you pity in us and forgive us of our trespasses.”

“Blasphemy” is a tricky thing.  We all have seen it in every churches and every religion.  God is not interested in our ability to recite scriptures or our capability to teach and spread the gospel if you are doing it to gain power and prestige… applause and accolades… because even a sinner can do that.  Your perfect attendance to church?  Even a sinner can do that.  But what have you sacrifice in the name of God?  Have you lost friends, money, title, etc…etc… because you stood alone, against  the masses  from the popular creed and tenet?  Every now and then, we should check with our conscience… to ensure that it is in alignment and conducive with the Holy Spirit.  Keep it real… no need to sugarcoat.  Arrogance is arrogance! Humility is humility!  Benevolence is benevolence! Stingy is stingy! Stubborn is stubborn!

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
