The answer is NO! All men are created by God. There are people who live their faith by heart and in action. I knew German protestants who are socially working for the poor and marginalized, there are impoverished families in Germany also.

Catholic or protestant, we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

As Catholics we are called to find common ground with fellow Christians.

The common theme of Salvation in Christ.

hehehe

John 8;32, "The truth will set you free."

Truth in Christ!

The word Catholic is latin meaning "UNIVERSAL"

Christianity and Catholicism is intertwined. It was from Catholicism that all branches of Christianity came from.

It was, after all, the Catholic Church that wrote and compiled the Holy Bible.

:)

Even before the Bible was composed and formalized, the Catholic Church was already THERE.

Corruption and greed is not attributed to a religion, nay, it is attributed to human factor.

The Chinese Government, a communist style government, and one that is atheistic and believing in only the supremacy of the State and owes no fealty to a deity but the State, is also highly corrupt. And Catholics are a minority in the country; that said, Christians in general are a minority in China. So, that argument of Catholic numbers contributing to corruption is nill.

India, a hugely Hindu nation is also incredibly corrupt. Same argument applies.

Russia, mostly an Orthodox Primacy, is also corrupt in its internal affairs. Catholics are a minority in that country. Same applies for Ukraine.

Corruption is, unfortunately, a human phenomenon. An innate problem when there are massive discrepancies between the rich and poor in any given society.

The Holy Mother the Church is immune from such crimes; given there may have been sheeps and members of the cloth that have engaged in some acts, but their actions do not speak for the entirety of the Church.

Cheers!

Adoramus te, Christe, et benedicimus tibi, quia per sanctam crucem tuam redemisti mundum!

Gloria In Excelsis Deo~~

Any developing nation will have corruption within its midst; where there is discrepancy, disparity, hunger, need, and political dynastical systems, where there are poor and unfulfilled peoples, when a population segment is lorded over by the rich elite who holds the reign of power, there will be, indeed, absolutely, a natural urge for the ruling class to maintain their power. Corruption provides the way to maintain the status quo.

Christ Jesus reminds us about this~ the Pharisees of the day. The corrupt men of power that lords over the poor, the dying, the marginalized.

If one looks at any developing nation, their religion has nothing to do with it, there will be corruption. It is simple human factor. East African nations are mostly muslim or protestant or some have catholic populations, but corrution within the state is a pragmatic reality. Another thing to keep in mind is South Asia. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka; these are nations that mostly Hindu, Muslim or Buddhist (Thervada or Mahayana), and corruption is quite high in these given societies. Violence as well. Catholics are minimal in these societies; can we blame it on Catholic faith? Of course not. To do so is not only infantile but also narcissistic.
The blame goes to human factor, human greed, power hunger, etc. The purity of faith should not be admixed with the corruption of the wicked.

Even in the United States, a mostly Protestant Christian Nation, still it has corruption and vices. Many politicians that have been sacked for adultery, tax evasion, bribery, etc most of them have been protestants. So, in the end, I think it is quite unfair and judgemental to blame Catholic Church on corruption.

In proper sociological-religious-economic-political analysis, one will realize that corrution is an evolutionary trait in any given society--as they march to progressive policies. But even then, corruption cannot and will not be totally eradicated. The United States, as an example, stands and bears witness to that.

Cheers.

I couldn't agree with you more Hofelina! I am born Catholic (Roman) and will die a catholic, however, it does not necessarily mean believers of other faiths are less than ours. My first husband is Catholic but his family was dysfunctional, my second husband is Muslim and we clash more his culture than religion, and might even marry a protestant!
It is how you live your life and how you treat people that makes you a good person..... regardless of your faith!

This years Corruption Perception Index for the countries of the world ranks the following from least corrupt to most curropt (increasing, based on how curropt a country is as perceived by Transparency International)

Follow the link below for the listing of countries:
http://transparency.org/policy_research/surveys_indices/cpi/2009/cpi_2009_table

And to know more about the Corruption Perception Index, follow this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corruption_Perceptions_Index

Kung atong sutaon sa top 10 most corrupt countries (Somalia to Haiti) usa ra gajud ang country nga predominantly Roman Catholic ang religion (Haiti) nga nasud sa top 10.

Sa top 50 most corrupt countries, 48% (24 countries) ang mainly Muslim countries, 30% (15 countries) ang mainly Roman Catholic countries and 3% ang Protestant countries (the rest either national religion or indigenous religion).

Aho ra ning kinaugalingong pagtuki ha. This is not official.

Siguro dili na obvious kung nganong Islam ug Roman Catholicism ang daghan ug occurrence sa survey kay ang duha nga religion man gud ang pinkadagkong religion sa kalibutan.

Good point, Vince.

The reason why our numbers and the Muslim numbers are high is because Catholics are the main Christian body.

There are over 1 Billion catholics world-wide. There are also over 1 Billion Muslims world-wide.

Due to our shear numbers, alone, we will make a force. However, given individual statistical analysis, it says alot that  only 30% are made up by Catholics.

Again, I still stand on the Human Factor being the causative factor for corruption. The prevalence of corruption throughout trans-religious lines is mandate for that argument. Whether a nation is predominantly Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian (Catholic or Protestant or Orthodox), Athiest etc, there will be corruption.

---

In the scriptural sense, corruption is a global bondage, one cannot escape it despite where one lives.
As it is proclaimed in Truth in Romans 8:21;
"That the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

In light of Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, taught to us through the Bride of Christ, the HOLY MOTHER THE CHURCH, this world is doomed to hellfire. And it is only through sanctification and through the mercy of God through The Son Jesus Christ that one will be saved from a definitive Eternal Perdition, which is guaranteed and saved for the devil and his fallen legions, which prowl this world looking for lost souls.

Corruption in this world is adamant and TOTAL.

The only realm where there is no corruption is in the Kingdom of the Most High God who Is Seated in Glorious Spleandor in Heaven Above! Where there is no room for wickedness or corruption, whatsoever at all.

As it is said:

1 Corinthians 15:50,
"I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable."

The Imperishable is the corrupt bodies, and all that is sin; Incorruptible is the soul and the spirit made Perfect in CHRIST!

----

REPENT AND BE SAVED!

Tita Blue, Amen! AMEN!

How to claim salvation?

Acts 16:27-31
27And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
28But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
29Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Romans 10:9
9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 5:8-11
8But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
9Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
11And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Our Catholic Mentor once told us in a group discussion,

"When you talk to fellow christians and others who do not believe as you, if they ask how you are doing, always reply : I AM BLESSED!"

Reasoning: We are Blessed with Salvation in Christ. We say we are Blessed because we are Saved By Christ! Share the Good News!

back to topic ky unja malatoz ug takong hee³

~~~
1 John 3: 16
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us.
And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
17* But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need,
and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?
18* My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
Bitaw, oi. GTG kay manikasikay una, so let me say goodbye with a Bible quote:
Revelation 16:13
And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
;)
