Agreed, I may understand why individuals call each other 'bro' or 'sis' as brothers or sisters in Christ.

But Jesus Christ, who is true God and true Man is not a bro, but our Lord and Savior.

A 'brother' refers to someone equal to you. We are not equal to Christ. As Christ who is the Eternal Living Word is GOD and is therefore supremely higher than you or I or any other being that walks the earth.

I agree too. Jesus is not our level... He's God in the person of human being and lived with us to lead the us the way [John 14:6] and proved to us thru' HIMSELF that there is really salvation for all mankind... to those who believe in HIM...[ John 3:16] Jesus made HIMSELF a concrete manifestation, a concrete evidence that there is LIFE after Death....

Because the religious experience is fundamentally a personal one, I suppose nomenclature is the least of our worries. What matters most is the sincerity of faith, not the choice of words. For Catholics, I suppose this intrepretation is in keeping with Aggiornamento and the Second Vatican Council.

I have an uncle whom I address using his first name, but I have all my respect for him. On the other hand, naa koy mga ig-agaw nga kusog jamo mo-amen nija unja "Angkol" pa jud ang tawag, pero dili diay mohatag bisan gamay na lang tabang unja grabeng makabiaybiay kay nagkalisod-lisod man intawon ang tawo. this is a nice thread to partake with.. the way I understood HIS passage, when Jesus said "brothers & sisters" He mean that HE is human during that time when He was still with His chosen disciples until the fulfillment of the scripture, His death and resurrection. That's the time HIS disciples said that indeed Jesus is LORD when they saw HIM in their very own eyes HIS ASCENSION into heaven.... as what HE promised that HE will prepare a home/ room s for us in heaven... just my own understanding..

nice input.. actually, the way I understood the passage of the Bible that Mary Magdalene was one of the women who first came to the tomb when Christ was risen.. Luke 24:5 In fright the women bowed to the ground, but the men (in dazzling garments) said, "why look for the living among the dead?" Luke 24:10 Among the women who brought the news were Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Mary the mother of James.

with regards to Jesus Christ ascension..

John 16:28-30 As I came from the Father and have come into the world, so I am leaving the world and going to the Father. The disciples said to Him, "now you are speaking plainly and not in veiled language! Now we see you that you know all things, even before we question you. because we believe that you came from God."

Luke 24:50-53 Jesus led them almost as far as Bethany; then lifted up his hands and blessed them. And as he blessed them, he withdrew (and was taken to heaven. They worship him). They return to Jerusalem full of joy and were continually in the temple praising God.

God revealed himself to his people Israel by making his name known to them. A name expresses a person's essence and identity and the meaning of this person's life. God has a name; he is not an anonymous force. To disclose one's name is to make oneself known to others; in a way it is to hand oneself over by becoming accessible, capable of being known more intimately and addressed personally.

In revealing his mysterious name, YHWH ("I AM HE WHO IS", "I AM WHO AM" or "I AM WHO I AM"), God says who he is and by what name he is to be called. All creatures receive all that they are and have from him; but he alone is his very being, and he is of himself everything that he is.

yes, He is our Father,Savior,Almighty God,etc but what are these names if we don't respect Him as such.
