The "1,000 years of reign of Jesus Christ" is commonly referred to as the **Millennium** and is primarily described in Revelation 20:1–6. Under the **premillennial view**—a widely held interpretation among many evangelicals—this period is seen as a literal 1,000-year era that follows Christ’s triumphant return and defeat of evil. During this time, Christ is understood to rule on a renewed earth, during which He binds Satan and establishes a period of unprecedented peace and divine justice.

Regarding where Christians will live during this time, many premillennial interpretations hold that those who are redeemed—whether resurrected or survivors from the tribulation—will inhabit this renewed earth rather than remaining in what we traditionally view as “heaven.” The imagery in Revelation, particularly the vision of the New Jerusalem descending from heaven to a transformed earth (as described later in Revelation 21), suggests that God’s people will enjoy an existence integrated into a physically restored creation. In this renewed environment, the redeemed will reign alongside Christ, sharing in His authority and experiencing a restored relationship with both God and creation.

It’s important to note, however, that there are alternative interpretations. For example, **amillennialists** see the 1,000 years as a symbolic representation of Christ’s current spiritual reign through His church rather than a literal future period. Despite these differences, the hopeful promise remains that God’s care and rule extend to every part of His creation—symbolizing that nothing is too small or insignificant in His plan.
