Vehicular Accident Involving a Motorcycle and a Truck

POLICE BLOTTER - That at around 4:40 p.m. of December 4, 2017, Batuan PS received a phone call from a concerned citizen regarding a traffic accident that transpired along the national highway of Poblacion Sur, Batuan, Bohol near the barangay hall. Personnel of the said PS immediately responded to the area and found out that involved vehicles were as follow: one (1) rusi motorcycle (mc for brevity), color black, bearing plate number gc 56200, no certificate of registration and official receipt presented at the moment, and driven by one Daisy Cadenas Y Nazareno, 27 years old (d.o.b. 12-9-1990), together with passengers namely Thelma Nazareno Y Ebol, 52 years old, mother of mc driver, and mc driver’s son John David Cadenas Y Nazareno, 3 years old, all residents of Poblacion Sur, Batuan, Bohol; and one (1) kia bongo frontier truck (truck for brevity), color white, bearing plate number 120105, engine numberjt-123577, chassis number kncsd0622xs430713, certificate of registration number 252065542, official receipt number 1117424696, registered owner Janet Ontina from Tungkil, Minglanilla, Cebu, and driven by one Ruben Laguitao Jr Y Pasyol 37 years old (d.o.b. 08-26-1980), married, and a resident of Taongon Sr, Dimiao, Bohol, with non-professional driver’s license number g10-08-001376, restrictions 12 and will expire on 08-26-2021. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that both vehicles were travelling in same direction from Batuan town proper bound to Bilar town as the mc was travelling ahead of the truck when upon reaching at place of incident, mc maneuvered to turn left and was about to enter a barangay road when it was hit by the truck which was about to overtake the said mc. The truck driver applied brakes  but it was too late and rammed the mc to the side of the road. All riders of the mc was immediately rushed to Congressman Simeon Toribio District Hospital at Carmen but was eventually transferred to Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital at Tagbilaran city for further medical attention except the child who only sustained minor abrasions. The mc was damaged on its different parts as well as the truck on its front portion. The truck driver and his passengers were unharmed and he (truck driver) was brought to Batuan PS including the involved vehicles for proper disposition.
